Back Home Again

On the drive to the Planet Tina asked “How should we do this?”
“Do what?” Bette inquired.
“How much should we say to our friends and family about getting back together?” Tina asked taking her eye off the road for a split second to look at Bette.
“I don’t think we should say anything right now Tee. I know they will be happy for us but I don’t want them interfering. It’s going to be enough of an adjustment for us and Angie without having everyone else meddling. I know they mean well and I know we both sometimes need someone else to talk to. I have Kit and you talk to Alice quite a bit but I’d like to keep the intimate stuff between us.”
“OK. What about Emma?”
“I do want to say something to Emma. I feel really comfortable with her. I think we agree that she knows us best if we need counseling, but if you want to seek out someone else don’t feel pressured that we have to use her OK?”
“No seeing Emma is fine. We have history with her. She really helped to get us through the roughest period in our relationship. If it weren’t for her friendship, guidance and counseling I don’t think that we would have been able to parent together when things were the most acrimonious between us. I’m OK with you talking to Emma, and you can tell her that we’d like to call on her if we can’t work anything out ourselves.”
“OK, but I’ll do it in private.”
“What about Angie, how should we tell her?”
“Let’s not say anything right away. Let’s have brunch then it’ll just be the three of us. We’ll take her to Santa Monica for the bumper cars rematch. I’m not going to have any mercy on her this time.” Bette jokes.
“Bette. She’s just a kid.”
“I know, but she really rubbed it in my face that she beat me. I want my revenge.”
Tina laughs at Bette knowing how competitive she is and knowing how she hates to lose even to a six year old.
“Anyway let’s take her to the pier. We’ll hang out there for a while and maybe have an early dinner. I’d like to wait until we get home to talk to her without distractions if that’s OK with you. I mean she’s going to know something is different instantly when you spend the night but I want to make sure she understands what this means for us.”

I was getting error messages when I posted this story last night, so didn’t realize that it actually went through twice. I deleted the duplicate post. Sorry dunnthat – your comment was deleted but I did read it and appreciate it. Please comment again here if you like.
I am fearing this story will be coming to an end soon. :(( It’s a great story thanks for posting so often.
kenji thank you. Like all stories it will come to an end, but we have a ways to go before that happens.
The only drawback is if I post multiple chapters at once then it will go faster. I’ll try to pace it out – this is my distraction while I work on the continuation of my other story ‘Love the bridge between our differences.’
My God Bat! you update too fast,
for our joy of course, finally Kennard-Porter together,
living under the same roof.
A great chapter.
The complete constellation.
