Balm For The Soul – Chapter 8
As Tina drove to Comfort Inn to check in she realized that
Bette still carried a lot of hurt from her actions years ago, yet she seemed to
be willing to help her get Angie back. At least that’s the way it appeared when
Tina told her she needed her help to develop a plan to take Henry back to
court. Tina had been shocked speechless to discover that Bette had taken care
of both her and Angie financially before leaving LA. If she had of known this
during her divorce she was almost certain that Henry would not have gained
custody of Angie.
Although Tina had not shared everything with Bette today she
had shared the most important information. Tomorrow she intended on finishing
her story but first she wanted to check out the information Bette had shared
with her. Her instincts about Bette’s love for her child had been correct and
she was glad she had let her heart lead in the decision she made to contact
Bette.
Sitting on her bed she dialed the number of the law firm
Bette had given her.
“McKnight, Adams, and Day. How can I direct your call?”
“Hello…may I please speak with attorney L. McKnight.”
“One moment please…who may I say is calling?”
“Tina Kennard, Attorney McKnight handled a legal matter
involving me and my daughter some years ago.”
“Hello L. McKnight speaking.”
“Hello Mr. McKnight my name is Tina Kennard. You set up an
investment fund and a trust fund for myself and my daughter Angie years ago for
my ex wife Bette Porter.”
“Your name is Ms. Kennard? I set up a trust fund and an
investment fund for a Ms. Porter?”
“Yes, that’s correct Mr. McKnight. I know you may not
remember my ex wife since it was years ago that these accounts were created
however, I am just now finding out about them and I would like some more
information. My…Bette Porter gave me your contact information.”
“Hold on one moment please and I will have my secretary
locate the file.”
Tina was on hold for what seemed like about fifteen minutes
when suddenly Mr. McKnight came back on the line apologizing for the wait but
assuring her they had found the information she had requested.
With a quick review of the file Mr. McKnight discovered that
his firm had failed to notify Ms. Kennard of the investment fund or the trust
fund set up for her and her child Angelica…realizing that a grave mistake had
been made he requested that Ms. Kennard come into his office three days from
today to discuss both accounts. In the mean time he would have his secretary
contact the investment firm for an updated portfolio as well as the bank for
financial records of deposits made into the trust fund account since it’s
creation for a current balance.

Can’t wait to see what happens next. Thank you for this story.
I don`t like this Tina.She was egoistic and is is now.Poor Bette.Great story,thank you for the update.PPS
Great update. This Tina is getting on my very short list of characters I don’t like. Again with another opportunity to tell Bette, she still fell short of expressing deep sorry for the way she treated her. However much Bette protests in her mind those two can never be truly over. Will reserve judgment until I see further what will happen with all this. Great story. Thanks.
this chapter….well, this Tina is definitely quite far off from the character that was created on the show. sounds really quite self-serving in this chapter. what is she trying to do? this bette sounds more like a tina from the show in essence cos she is more self-sacrificing. ok, will just read on.
