Beauty is only skin deep (part twenty-seven)

    Tina: hey

    Bette: hey. So

Tina: yeah, uh, how did it go?

Bette: Well, let’s just say I’m glad we only have ONE boy.

    Tina: It was that bad?

Bette: I think the bathroom needs a new coat of paint

Tina: Ugh. Johnny Stewart, lookout, here comes Tina Kennard.

Tina heads to the kitchen, but Bette stops her short

Bette: Um, Tina? I don’t think that’s going to be necessary.

Tina: Why? What did you do to him?

Bette: Nothing. He’s in the kitchen eating a cookie.

    Tina: ?

    Bette: See for yourself.

Tina: (walks into kitchen, sees Johnny eating a cookie) Bette!

Bette: Calm down, calm down. We had a little chat. I agreed he could have a cookie, if he agreed to let me tie him to that chair.

    Tina: Bette!

Bette: Oh, come on! He’s okay with it. And look, no trouble! He’s only got ten more minutes.

    Johnny: Another cookie, please.

    Bette: (tosses him an oreo)

Tina: We’ve got to work on your method of negotiation.

Bette: So I’m a crappy parent, so what?

Tina: what makes you think that? You’re great with kids! Look, I overreacted. Johnny’s doing much better. I can see the difference.

Bette: Johnny, no! Put that cactus plant down!

    Tina: Heh

Bette: Look, it’s okay. I know I don’t have what you have. It’s alright. It’ll give me more of a chance to be a provider for our family.

Tina: I don’t want you thinking you’ve got to do everything. I’ve seen what that does to you. And by the way, what was all that huff about getting a new job?

Bette: Oh, that? It wasnothing. I thought I had a lead, but it didn’t work out. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you.

Tina: It’s okay, I guess. I just want us to be one big happy family. Is it time for these kids to go home yet?

Dana: Okay, we’re just going to convince her to take Howie back and then get the ***** out of here.

    Alice: Mmm hmm

    Dana: (looks at Alice strangely)

    Alice: Sorry. I’m kinda nervous.

Dana: This was your idea, Alice.

    Alice: I know. I know. Don’t remind me, k?

Sharon answers to the sound of the doorbell.
