Tina had showered and went to wake up Bette.
Tina: Bette get up baby we need to get going.
Bette: Mm, five more minutes.
Tina: No get up babe you have to drop me off remember we have an appointment with Dr. Wilson at four.
Bette: Ok. Im up.
Tina leaned in kissed her.

Tina: Ill go get your coffee. She swatted her bottom. Now get going.
Tina went to finish getting dressed, she was sitting having coffee and reading the newspaper when Bette came in. She sat to have coffee with Tina.

Bette: So Ill drop you at your office and Ill be back at 4:00 for our appointment.
Tina: yeah, Dr. Wilson is in the same office building, so it will be easy.
Bette: Does she know about our situation?
Tina: Yes baby and shes very supportive, youll love her.
Bette: Great, then this evening we can stay in and check out the catalog again.
Tina: Sounds good. We better get going.
They headed out.

Tinas office.
Tina went in to start her day. She had several calls to return, one of them was from Kit. She called her.
Kit: Hello.

Kit: I heard thru the grapevine that you finally agreed to sing for that benefit concert Ive been bugging you about.
Tina: laughed. Youve been talking to Bette or Alice?

Tina: Well Im getting together with Alice and her band tomorrow. What date is the concert?

Tina got off the phone and went to see her patients, life was so good.
Bette hung up and just smiled, whatever had gotten into Tina, she liked it. It was wearing her out but she wasnt complaining. God she loved her, life was good.

At 3:30 Bette was at Tinas office, she went in said Hi to everyone and went to wait for her in her office. Bette looked around Tinas office, it was truly Tina.

There were plants, soft colors, and the prints Bette had gotten her for her walls, pictures of them and the gang and her family. The desk was full of paper work, always charts, test results etc Koosh ball, etch a sketch, slinky and other toys, not for her patients but for Tina.

She had to keep her hands busy when she is on the phone. Bette paces or talks with her hands, Tina doodles or plays with toys.

Tina had a small refrigerator in the corner; Bette went to get herself a bottle of water, when she turned around Tina came in.

Tina went out to the nurses station right outside her office. Tina was giving orders and instructions to Sara and Angie her assistants. It was a foreign language to Bette all medical talk, but it amazed Bette. Sometimes she forgot how smart and together Tina was.

Tina came back in, put a few things in place on her desk.
Tina: ready to go?
Bette: Yeah lets go.
Tina: to her assistants. Girls Im outta here, see you tomorrow.

They went upstairs to Dr. Wilsons office.
She was a lovely older OB/GYN, very good and a wonderful bedside manner. Bette loved her immediately. Tina had worked with her several times and thought she was the best.
She examined Tina; Bette was by her side the whole time holding her hand.

Dr. Wilson: Well Tina/Bette everything looks very normal. All things seem to be ok, youre tests are all normal. She hands them to Tina to read. All we do now is wait.
You check your urine daily, when it shows you are ovulating you get the donor sperm and come see me.

Tina: Dr. Wilson.Marylouwe would like to conceive at home if possible.
Dr. Wilson: Sure, Im sorry I forgot youre definitely capable of doing this on your own, alone. A helluva lot more romantic and meaningful to you both Im sure. She winked at Bette. Ill get you everything youll need and Ill get the papers we give everyone when we do it here. Ill be right back. You can get dressed Tina.
Bette: Thank you doctor, I hope you dont mind us doing it this way.
Dr.Wilson: Of course not, its a very reasonable request. Im sure Id do the same thing.
Tina: Thanks Marylou.

She brought back a syringe, a diaphragm, and lots of instructions.
Dr. Wilson: Do you have a donor yet?
Tina: Were picking one from the cryobank
Dr. Wilson: Excellent. According to your tests Tina you should be ovulating in about 2 weeks. She took their hands as she spoke. Youll be wonderful parents, when you get a positive pregnancy test call me and well do a sonogram to confirm. Good luck Tina call be anytime or if you have any questions. See you in a few weeks.

They went home after stopping and getting dinner. They settled on the couch eating and looking at the catalog. Bette went to the kitchen and was cleaning up dishes and getting them a glass of wine. Tina got up to help.
Bette: No you stay, sit, and relax. This wont take me a minute to clean up.

Tina continued to look at the catalog. She was looking at #50979; she reread it three times before she yelled out.
Tina: Bette, BETTE, Baby come here. I found him, I found him!!
Bette was putting the dishes in the dishwasher and jumped when she heard Tina yell. She went running in to her.
Bette: What is it T? Are you okay?
Tina jumped up into Bettes arms.
Tina: I found him, I think this is it. Read this.

Bette tried to sit down as Tina was crawling off of her and handing her the catalog.
Bette: Okay babe, sit down. Calm down. Laughing at her. I didnt think youd get this excited about a mans sperm anymore. Kissing her cheek and taking her hand.
Bette took the catalog from Tina and started reading the facts on Mr. #50979.

They read it again. Finding no faults.
