Breathless Part 6
“Hey Tonya, I need to talk. Wait for me at the lobby coffee house in twenty minutes time. We’ll have dinner there.”
“Ok, see you then.”
Tonya waved at the tennis player. Dana walked towards the table and sat down with a loud sigh.
“What’s up?” Tonya asked. She was worried upon seeing Dana. She could tell that the tennis player was in bad shape.
“Let’s order first.” Dana waived at the waiter and ordered a steak, a large fries and a large beer. Tonya swallowed hard on this. The tennis player usually ate healthy. I am in big trouble, she muttered.
She was snapped out from her thought.
“Tonya, remember you told me about the close up interview with New York Times for two weeks which I haven’t agreed on?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Ok, I’ll accept the interview with one condition.”
“What’s that?”
“I will only allow Alice Pieszecki to interview me. Not Jess or whoever, it must be the editor, ok?”
“But…” Tonya tried to protest.
“No but, Tonya. You have to figure it out for me. Bye the way you knew Alice’s boss right?” Dana winked at her.
“Ok, I’ll try but no guarantee.”
“I believe you can do it Ton. I trust you.” Dana gave Tonya her most adorable puppy look until she relented.
“Ok, ok I’ll call Tommy tomorrow and talk him into it.”
“Better be quick, I don’t want to wait too long to see her again. She’s leaving tomorrow night.” Dana was serious again.
“Oh, no wonder. I think our Wimbledon champion is in love.” Tonya winked, which made the tennis player blushed.
“Whatever Tonya, I just..I just want to be around her. I couldn’t think of other reason to make her flies to LA. I hope she will take up the interview.” Dana said in defeated tone and put her face onto her hands. She was exhausted but couldn’t rest if she didn’t settle this fast. Luckily she had a manager that had great network.
Tonya sighed looking at the tennis player.
“Sweetie, you have a good sleep tonight ok. Everything will be fine tomorrow.”
Dana raised her head and looked at Tonya.
“Promise?”
“Yes, I promise.” Tonya smiled.
“Thanks Ton.” Dana face lid up.
“Ok, the food is here already. Let’s finished it and get back to the room. But I wonder if you could ever finish that.” Tonya said pointing at Dana’s steak, french fries and beer.
“Oh my god.” Dana frowned at the food in front of her, not realized she had ordered that much. Tonya giggled at Dana’s annoyed face and wished her good luck.
The next day at the airport
Alice sat down at the airport waiting to get into the security check. She couldn’t believe her one month holiday was over. It was fun, and one thing she gained from it was meeting the tennis player. But it ended too soon. The tennis player never called after they parted yesterday. Guess she has already forgotten about me, she sighed and looked at her watch. It’s time to go, she thought and stood up grabbing her laptop bag. She was walking towards the security check when she heard someone calling her. She turned and smiled looking at the person before her.
“Hey.” Dana said catching her breath.
“Hi, how do you know..” Alice was cutted by Dana before she could finish her sentence.
“I asked Jess about it. I am glad I found you at last. It’s not easy to search the entire airport for you.” Dana quickly answered and was still breathing heavily. Alice smiled looking at the tennis player up and down. Can she not be so cute for at least one minute? She thought.
“Well, now that you have found me, so…”
“Ummm, I aaa, I just come to say goodbye.”
“Ok, goodbye.” Alice smiled and shrugged her shoulder when Dana looked at her. But she was heart broken inside. She looked down at her feet after that, trying hard to suppress her emotion.
“Yeah, goodbye.” Dana said softly. She tucked her hands into her back pockets, not knowing what to do next. There was an awkward silence before the tennis player finally spoke up.
“Alice, do you think maybe, hmm” Alice looked up at Dana.
“What Dana?”
“Maybe we can go out sometime, you know, when I’m in New York or when you are in LA.” Dana said. She knew that they will meet again, but wanted to hear it from the blonde.
“Yeah, it’ll be great.” Alice asnwered while keeping her fingers crossed that this would happen soon.
“Really?”
“Yeah, really.”
Dana grinned from ear to ear. Then they heard the announcement that the flight to new York was ready for boarding.
“Guess I have to go now, bye Dana.” Alice said, but the tennis player was reluctant to leave.
“By the way nice to meet you.” Alice stuck out her hand.
Dana just looked at Alice. She reached for Alice’s hand and pulled her into a hug instead. The blonde’s body was stiffed at first but soon melted into the hug. Dana was happy that the blode didn’t pulled away. She kissed Alice’s cheek and pulled away but was still holding the blonde’s hand.
“Nice to meet you too, actually I’m glad that I get to know you.” She let go of Alice’s hand slowly.
Alice didn’t know what to say. Her heart was pounding fast. They heard the announcement again.
“Ok, I really got to go now.” Alice said while adjusting her laptop bag.
“Bye Alice.” Dana tried to sound casual but failed miserably.
“Bye.”
Alice stood still and thought for a while before she leaned in to kiss Dana’s lips lightly and then made a quick move to the security check. Dana’s heart skipped a beat on Alice’s move. She needed a few seconds to process what happened, and a smile crept up across her lips when she realized Alice had just kissed her. She yelled Alice’s name when the blonde was on her way to the security gate, gesturing to the blonde that she would call her. Alice gave the tennis player her most beautiful smile and turned to walk away, leaving a hypnotized tennis player behind.
“Yes!” Dana threw her fist into the air. She quickly realized that she was in the airport and blushed when other people looked at her. She acted as if nothing happened and walked towards the airport exit all the way singing I’m Yours from Jason Marz.

Great work, I love this story so much! Thanks pps
Great update! Once again, I am glad Dana has Tonya there to help. I got a giggle with Dana’s huge food order. It was a very good idea of Dana’s to go to the airport. I am glad she asked for the date and Alice accepted. The hug/kiss thing was so cute. I look forward to seeing what happens when they get back to the states. Thanks, uhhuh!
