    “That’s All Right”
    And the winner is….

    The audience was silent waiting for the winners name to be
    announced. It had been a tough competition this year and the women were all
    exemplary. The announcer opened his mouth ready to ease everyone’s anxiety.

    Announcer: Bette Porter.

    The audience jumped to their feet applauding like they never
    had before. Tina, Alex and Alice included.

    Bette sauntered on stage, her gold dress flowing with her
    every move. She graciously took the award and held it up for everyone to see.
    As she approached the mic Tina could see Bette’s hands shaking.

    Bette: Wow. This is….it’s…indescribable. style=”mso-spacerun: yes”>  There are so many people I want to
    thank.  Wow, I really wasn’t
    prepared for this.

    Alice whispered.

    Alice: Yes she was. She deserved this.

    Tina: Damn right.

    Bette: I would like to thank my agent or course and my
    fantastic producers. The cast, I would have lost my mind without you. style=”mso-spacerun: yes”>  Chad you look amazing as always.

    Alex: I should say so.

    Tina: Shhh

     Bette: My best
    friends from Philly Dana and Shane. I miss you guys. Kit, my beautifully
    talented sister. She taught me to sing. She taught me to live and love.

    Bette looked over at the director.

    Bette: How much more time do I have?

    The audience laughed.

    Bette: I’ll make it quick then. And a thank you to 3 of my
    new friends. They know who they are. I hope I can one day help them as they
    have begun helping me. Thanks! This is AMAZING!!!

    With that Bette walked off stage and whisked away by
    photographers.

    Alex: I can’t believe she won! I mean I can believe it but
    it’s just amazing.

    Tina: I know. I am so proud of her.

    Alice: I guess she escaped the wrath of Helena.

    Tina: yeah I guess so. Lucky girl.

    The three friends stayed put until the end of the show. They
    followed the huge crowds back out into the warm summer evening.

    Alex: What now?

    Tina: Bette said she was throwing together a little post
    party and we were all invited.

    Alice; I could use a little party.

    Alex: Then shall we go?

    Tina: We shall.

    The three linked arms and headed up the block to hail a
    taxi. It was only a fifteen-minute ride to Bette’s and when they arrived people
    were surrounding the place. Some were fans just calling Bette’s name, others
    were reporters, but most were invited guests.
