Celebrity Love – Oprah
Oprah: Another question, Bette, You’ve wrote some songs which could go about you being a lesbian. Like in your fist song. ‘Baby, kiss me tonight’ there is the sentence that says ‘The world doesn’t think you and I are right.’ Is that the case?
Bette: It was actually.
Oprah: There are some rumors that you and your best friend, Alice Pieszecki have been together.
Bette had talked to Alice about revealing that they had dated in the past. Alice was okay with it.
Bette: We dated briefly when we were 17 but it turned out we are better off being friends.
Oprah: And you Tina?
Tina: Helena Peabody is one of my exes but just like Bette and Alice we are better just being friends.
Oprah/ How did your parents react when you came out, Bette?
Bette: My mother wasn’t around anymore when I came out and my father needed a few months to act normal when he saw me with a girl. And my sister, Kit, said she was happy when I was happy.
Oprah: And your parents Tina?
Tina: They said I was a shame for the family so I don’t have any contact with them anymore. I only have contact with my oldest sister, but that’s only briefly. She says it’s my life and that it’s none of her business.
Bette squeezed Tina’s hand. She knew it was hard for Tina to talk about her family.
Oprah: When we announced that you two would be on the show to reveal who you were dating se got a lot of questions. We have one from Drake Longue. What is ‘your’ love song?
Tina and Bette smiled at each other. That was easy.
Bette: She from Jen Foster. That’s an easy one.
Oprah: Someone wants to know how you could date without the paparazzi’s catching you?
Tina: We just dated in our houses or in Bette’ sister’s café. She would totally clear it for us.
Oprah: One last question is… if you two ever have kids would they come in the spotlight or would you ‘hide’ them away?
Bette: Uhm… I wouldn’t hide my kids from the world but I wouldn’t want to push them in the spotlight.
Tina: I think the same.
Oprah: That was it for today. Bye!
Bette and Tina: Bye.
The public applauded and the camera-man signed that the filming was done. Oprah said goodbye for the last time and walked of set, to her dressing room. Bette and Tina did the same. When they were in that room they hugged.
Bette: We did it, baby
Tina: We did.
They kissed.
Bette: Let’s go home and… Celebrate?
Tina smiled.
Tina: Sounds good to me!

very good, i’m enjoying this story. the Oprah scenes reminded me of Ellen and Portia on there a few years ago talking about getting married.
That was great and love it, happy for Bette and Tina, now they can do whatever they want and free to be out in public. Please post more, thanks!
