    chapter 14

    Bette practically tore the front door off the hinges getting it open.

     

    “Took you long enough” Alice complained.

     

    “I was busy,… what do you want Alice?” Bette asked , more out of frustration than anger.

     

    “Good morning to you too, I hope you appreciate me coming all the way out here.” Alice said, pushing her way in between Bette and the door.  “I called the phone like four times and you  didn’t answer.”

     

    “So the most logical thing to do was to just come on over?”

     

    “Hey stop being such a bitch, you were supposed to be at the planet  for breakfast hours ago. It’s not like you to sleep late on a Saturday .  Are you ill?  You look fine to me… Wait , Alice stopped so sudden Bette collided in her , I know, you’re still mad because Tina walked out on you at the planet…You have to get over it Bette,  not every woman is going to fall for your charms. You have to learn that people do say  “NO”  to the great  Bette Porter”

     

    “Are you finished now Alice, you can leave, I’ll meet you at the planet as soon as I freshen up”

     

    But Alice wasn’t done yet, she proceeded towards the kitchen.  “You know Bette”  She continued, I can  talk to T_____HOLY SHIT!_____hold it” , Alice was shocked as she came upon Tina in the kitchen.  “-What is this?”  she pointed to Tina wearing Bette’s robe.  Are you?… Did you?… how?…” For once Alice was at a loss for words.  “Since when do you do sleepovers?”

     

    “Now that you’ve seen for yourself that I’m fine can you kindly leave.”

     

    “Actually there’s another reason I came by.”

     

    “And what was the reason? Alice?” Bette asked, getting irritated with Alice.

     

    “.I…”  Alice began, laughter threatening to erupt again. “I guessed Tina was here so, I just wanted to see for myself, what you looked like after you woke with a woman lying next to you”

     

    “You are too funny ,Alice”, Tina said in between laughter_which made Bette cast Alice with the evil eye.  To Bette she said “ I’ll leave you two to talk  sorry  about breakfast, but I have to leave, I need to change into some fresh clothes.”
