“Hi Dana how are you?” Jenny asked from her chair around the gang’s everyday table at the Planet as Dana walked over.

“I’m doing alright.” Dana replied plopping in the chair next to Shane who had Jenny on the other side.

“Man you look exhausted what the hell did you do last night Miss Dana?” Shane stated jokingly as Dana rolled her eyes and shook her head.

“Well I didn’t sleep I can tell you that.” Dana said grumpily putting her head in her hand as she rested her elbow on the table looking like she was about to fall asleep then and there.

“Why not? You have a certain blonde on the mind?” Shane asked already knowing the answer even though Dana just glared at her for a moment without replying.

“You guys are so cute together.” Jenny said smiling dreamily at the thought of the two while Shane and Dana just stared at her weirdly before Dana replied, “We’re not together. She was having a hard time yesterday, that’s all that was.”

“Dane, look I’m not saying that you two have to immediately jump into a relationship but maybe you’re not as over Alice as you think you are. It’s been how many years? Just give her a chance.” Shane stated hoping to get through to her stubborn friend but Dana shook her head.

“Guys its too soon. I don’t mind maybe working on our friendship right now but she’s already hurt me once and I won’t let her do it again.” Dana stated nodding her head as if to convince herself that she was right but Shane and Jenny glanced at each other unbelievingly.

“Alright I’m gonna go for a run and wake myself up. I’ll see you guys later.” As Dana walked out of the doors of the Planet, Bette Tina and Alice were walking up.

“You leaving already?” Alice asked looking concerned at the dark circles under the tennis players eyes. Bette and Tina left the two alone, deciding to ask Shane about Dana when they got in.

“Ya I’m going for a run but I’ll catch up with you guys later.” Dana said insincerely causing Alice to give her a pointed look stating, “I don’t believe you.”
