    Chapter 54 – Unnecessary Tension

    Tina visibly sighed in relief.

“Eric and I hardly ever crossed paths here when we were together. It hasn’t been an issue Aaron, we’re both adults. I don’t think it’s too much to ask that we act like it.”

“Ok. I got it. Will it be a problem next week when we are all in Austin?”

“Nope. At least not on my end. I don’t know what you heard, but he proposed and not only did I not accept, I kinda broke it off at the same time.”

Aaron laughed. “Ouch. You broke that pretty boy’s little heart, didn’t you?” He joked.

“Not on purpose. We want different things.” Tina said knowing full well there was really only one “thing” she wanted right now and it certainly wasn’t Eric Turner.

“I understand completely. So is it true that Helena Peabody has a crush on you too? She was certainly interested in your work while she was here last week. I noticed some tension between her and Eric too. I think he may have been a little jealous.”

    Tina blushed.

“Umm, I took her to a few shows with me last week and she stuck around for Third Wheel’s show at the Roxy on Friday. But I can honestly say she has a bigger crush on Papi than any feelings for me.”

“No way, Papi? Damn, I need to start taking notes from that chick! She gets so much pussy it’s unreal!” Aaron said which made Tina cringe.

“I guess that’s one way of putting it.” She responded.

“Anyway, that brings me to the next thing I wanted to talk to you about.” Aaron leaned back in his chair with his fingers laced behind his head. “What are we gonna do about this little coke habit the lead singer of the group with the number 3 song in the nation has?”

“Holy shit, they’re number 3 this week?” Tina didn’t even check the Soundscan chart, which she usually does every Sunday, since she spent the entire day with Bette.

“You mean you didn’t know? I would have thought you’d have been pissed they weren’t number 1 yet. Where were you yesterday?”

“I took a personal day.” She answered seriously. “But I’m not sure what we should do about Gabby. How did you find out?”

    1. Sleazeball Aaron…. never liked that guy.

Hmm, next chance for Tina to put her foot in it with Bette. Tell her of Aaron’s request to sign only Kit? Not tell her and somehow the rumour gets to Bette that Tina had an ulterior motive after all?

Doing what the boss wants from her and making her girlfriend angry? Or staying away from signing Kit to gain the trust of Bette and making her boss angry and maybe loose that promotion right away?
Is that called a Catch 22?
