Rian’s eyes popped, and she turned to look at Jade, who blurted out right away, “Yes, of course we’ll be happy to have her join us tomorrow!”
“I’m really sorry, Rian. Poor planning on my part,” Dan continued in a contrite voice. “I really should have expected it. That vote had been precarious all along. And I really shouldn’t have forced you to change your plans to drive to your folks in Charlotte.”
They both waited for Rian to react.
Rian shut her eyes, and shook her head. “You owe me, Dan.”
“I know, honey,” Dan said quietly.
“I can call your parents and explain,” he added.
Rian shook her head, “No, no you don’t have to. They’re my parents. And I chose to come with you to New York to go to this thing, instead of drive to see them, so….”
Dan drew her into a tight embrace, and after a quick kiss, he wished Jade happy holidays and turned and left.
Jade stood quietly by Rian, who expelled a frustrated breath out.
And then she said, “Can’t be all bad. You and I get to spend Christmas together, after all. I bet neither of us thought that would happen when we were talking the other day, right?”
Rian laughed and nodded, “Come on, let’s see what we can do about that shirt.”
Later, after taking turns trying to wash the stain out, Rian tried to lift Jade’s spirits up, observing, “Poor Fabienne. She’s been pawing at you all night, and yet I get to be the one standing next to you, all sexy and shirtless ..”
Jade couldn’t stop a smile as she lifted her head to look sideways at Rian.
She murmured, “Sexy, huh?”
Something in her tone was still light and in the friendly vein they’d bantered with while trying to wash the stain off, but there was a frisson of something else.
Rian swallowed.
“Nothing you haven’t seen before … and more … in the lake, remember?” Jade continued, still bantering, but her emerald green eyes were flashing something.
Rian licked her lips, and tried to mimic Jade’s casual tone, “You’re right, up to a point.”
“Yeah?”
“Umm… you seem to have bigger arms, and you have a definite six pack going on there,” Rian observed, after blowing a breath out.

Loving this story and the new ppl.JADE is trying to grow but keeps falling for girls that are somewhat controlling.RIAN is like a puzzle some parts are hard to place.WHAT are they hoping to avoid?A relationship is gonna happen when and where is the problem.RIAN/JADE you two are in lust/love NOT trouble.thanks

Jade and Rian, they would be a beautiful couple just like B&T . It is for sure they will be together, but i have the feeling that it will take longer than we hope it will.
