    “So romantic in here, girls. Thanks!” Tina exclaimed softly. “I thought we were just going to hang out in the kitchen!” “Nonsense,” Jules answered with a smile, and then pulled on Diane’s hand. They exchanged a conspiratorial smile, before Jules added, “We thought it would be a nice way to cap the evening, and prep

    “So romantic in here, girls. Thanks!” Tina exclaimed softly. “I thought we were just going to hang out in the kitchen!”

    “Nonsense,” Jules answered with a smile, and then pulled on Diane’s hand. They exchanged a conspiratorial smile, before Jules added, “We thought it would be a nice way to cap the evening, and prep you for the other Christmas gift we’d gotten for you!”

    “Aww!” Tina exclaimed, “the candles and candle-holder jars were enough!”

    Diane waved off Bette’s additional protestations. “C’mon, c’mon! Let’s all sit …”

    Jules pulled a chair for Bette to sit on while Diane did the same for Tina.

    Bette took her seat with a huge smile on her face. “I, for one, will never turn down a dessert like this …”

    Tina beat her to her next comment. “Diane! Honey, this is sooo good!”

    Jules beamed proudly, as she spooned a dollop of the ganache.

    “Well it’s one of the few things I can make, so …” Diane answered, a blush spreading on her cheeks.

    They ate Diane’s dessert and drank the tea and laughed as they recounted a story Sarah told them over dinner about a disastrous date their friend had had earlier in the week. Then Bette and Tina talked about how much they were looking forward to the upcoming trip to Switzerland “to ski and relax” and enjoy the rest of holidays “to unplug and get away from those maddening crowds of shoppers!” Jules and Diane told them they were excited about spending their first Christmas together as a couple.

    “Speaking of chocolate ganache,” Tina said in a reflective tone as she licked her spoon clean, “I think I’ll text Jade to see how that wedding reception is going …”

    “And maybe see if she’s convinced Fabienne to add a visit here tomorrow afternoon to their Christmas Day schedule?” Bette added with a smirk.

    As Tina pulled out her phone, Jules asked, “Jade … you mean your cousin? The one who couldn’t stay for your reception?”

    Bette nodded as Tina started to text Jade. “Not her fault … and it’s a long story.”

    “She’s the one who couldn’t make it to the Thanksgiving dinner also, right?” Diane asked as she stood up. She motioned to Bette to keep her seat, and mouthed, “we’ll take care of this.”

      • This was the natural end of the chapter, sorry had to cut it there. But am posting the concluding chapter to the story tonight/early tomorrow morning. Hang in there.

Never want JADE to experience the hurt that BETTE felt that day on the bridge OMG i was physically sick i knew TINA was in over her head but when she told BETTE it was as if i myself was there too.JADE may not rally back like BETTE but she will have the same support system i hope.SHE’s a fighter and for that i have hope that she will make it thru whatever lies ahead.thanks

    4. Ok, must admit that i didn’t had the time to read this marvelous story earlier, but Skydancer, why do i have the feeling that Jade’s heart is going to be shattered?

      It seems Rian knew that she wasn’t available to have a relationship with Jade, is that why she was so persistent that Jade experienced more loves, heartbreaks etc. ?

      I don’t have a good feeling about the letter.

      You promised to update soon, i am waiting patiently for it.

    6. Ok Sky, you can’t just leave us here. What the hell? I know that Jade needed to grow into her relationship with Rian but as a widow? No!! Please give them a chance to form that love bond that appeared when they first met. Jade’s girlfriend was just a superficial child. She did not have the depth that Jade requires to flourish. That women is Rian, Please keep her safe and bring her back!!
