    Chapter13.

You really love your job don’t you?

Oh yeah, I live for it.

Anyway the reason Im calling, apart from to hear your voice, is because the girls are leaving in the morning so were all going out for a drink tonight and I was wondering if you and Lizzie would want to join us?

Don’t you just want it to be you and the girls?

If I did, do you think I would be inviting you?

I laughed softly, turning round on the spot absently.

Ok, Ill ask Liz when I get home and give you a call back if you like?

That would be great, I take it that’s a yes then?

Well I cant speak for Lizzie so Ill let you know.

But youll come for sure right?

I paused, smiling at Millies words.

Ill let you know later ok?

Millie sighed impatiently, I knew I would be going and so did Millie, but it was fun to tease.

You like to keep me waiting don’t you?

Gotta keep you on your toes somehow, anyway I got to go.

    Ok, Ill see you later.

    Maybe.

    Definitely.

    Maybe.

Im taking that as a yes.

    Bye.

    Bye.

I returned to the office with a huge smile across my face and a happy glow about me. Looking very much out of place in between the dull, grey and thoroughly depressed faces of the middle aged mums and dads who were stuck in the same dead end job for the rest of their lives. I made a mental note to start looking for a new job as soon as, I needed a change of scenery to go with the new change in me.

Lizzie, you in?! I called, kicking the front door shut with my foot.

I had stopped off to get a few things from the shops and realised whilst perusing the shelves that I was quite peckish at the time. Note to self; never go food shopping when hungry.
