    Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)

Tina laughed. “If she goes Greyhound then so do you.”

“So be it. I’ve got to provide a check and balance for the sake of her character, T. I’m not letting her get entitled. Someday you’ll thank me.”

Tina shook her head and gave Bette a swat on the rear end. “Get out of here.”

“Bye, mom!” Angie called over her shoulder to Tina as Bette ushered her out of the door.

“I heard you and mom talking,” Angie said casually as they descended the steps of their townhouse. “What’s Greyhound? I know you didn’t mean the dogs.”

Bette looked down at her daughter fondly and placed a hand on her shoulder as they walked to the waiting car at the curb. “Behave and you won’t have to find out.”

After a week of planning, packing, and other vacation must dos, and one very nice private flight, Tina, Bette, and Angelica were checked into their hotel and checking out the suite.

“It’s nice,” Angie said emerging from her room. She plopped down on a couch and looked around. “They even have a tree in here!”

Tina smiled at Angie as she put on her earrings, after wasting no time to get changed before she had to head out for her first meeting of the week. “I’m glad you like it, sweetie.” She turned her attention to Bette and asked, “What are you two going to do while I’m out?”

“I’m going to take Angie to The Planet. Kit is expecting us. Come by when you’re done,” Bette suggested.

“No can do. I expect this meeting to take hours. But I made a reservation at Crane’s for dinner. At 7. I’ve texted the girls. I’ll meet you there tonight.” She checked her watch. “I’d better get going. You know what traffic is like.”

“That’s one thing I don’t miss about living here.”

On her way out, Tina stopped to ruffle Angie’s hair. “Have fun with your Aunt Kit today. I’ll see you tonight.”

    “Okay, mom.”

Tina gave Bette a quick kiss and swished toward the door. “Remember now, Crane’s at 7. I can’t wait to see the girls.”

“Bye,” Bette and Angie called in unison as Tina closed the door. They were left looking at each other.

    1. Merry Christmas! I love your writing. I’ve read several of your stories today and they were all wonderful. Is there anyway you will complete “New Chapter” I’m dying to find out what happened to Tina before she moved to Mercy.

    2. Dear dear omalley, it was wonderful thrill to see that you had posted a holiday story. This story is a beautiful tribute to the framily whose adventures we have followed for so long. It’s a great addition to your library.
