Close my Eyes -22
"Driver, to a hospital now!" Tina yelled startling the driver. "Hurry, my wife just went into labor!"
The driver nearly scrambled off his seat as he turned on the car. "The nearest hospital is several miles away and the 101 has a lot of traffic at this time."
"Then take the streets but get us to the hospital!" Tina said as Bette started breathing more heavily.
"The streets are worse," the driver said pulling out onto the street.
"Ahh!" Bette cried gripping her stomach.
"Bette lie down," Tina said lifting Bette’s legs onto the seat and laying her flat.
"Officer don’t you have medical training?" The driver said merging onto the freeway as fast as possible. "I’m gonna take the 134 freeway since there’s less traffic but it’ll take longer to reach the hospital."
"Bette put you legs on either side of me," Tina said gently removing a layer of Bette’s puffy dress.
"Do you need the air conditioner of something?" The driver said nervously.
"No, I need you to remain calm," Tina said, "and if you have water."
"Ahhh!" Bette cried as a contraction hit her.
"Take a deep breath Bette," Tina said.
The driver passed back a water bottle, "that’s all I have."
"A towel, handkerchief?" Tina asked.
The driver rapidly unbuttoned his shirt with one hand and took it off leaving only his undershirt. He passed back the shirt with a handkerchief. "Just in case you need somewhere to put the baby."
"Thank you," Tina said setting the shirt behind her and soaking the handkerchief with water. She placed it on Bette’s forehead as she groaned and moaned then slipped her hands under Bette’s dress and removed her lacy soaked underwear. "I would have liked to see that on you," Tina commented throwing them aside.
The driver chuckled.
"You weren’t supposed to hear that," Tina said.
"Sorry, do you want me to raise the window?" The driver said.
"Ahhh God, Tina this hurts so much!" Bette screeched.
"Shit you’re dialating! Very fast!" Tina cried.
"Shit! Shit! Shit!" Bette cried.
"Put your window up I might have to deliver this baby here," Tina cried, "call 9-11 and tell them where we’re heading."
The driver clicked on the car phone and started raising the window.
