Alice rolled over in the very large, extremely warm bed and tried to crack her eyes open slowly, so that the light didn’t overwhelm her.  But the room was dark mercifully dark.  Sitting up, the blankets cascading own around her waist, she looked down, seeing that she was in a comfortable tee shirt.  Curiously peeking under the blankets and finding that she was wearing a pair of boxers with ducks on them.

“Ducks?” said Alice softly to the empty room.  Rubbing her eyes, seeing a bottle of cold water on the night stand next to the bed, and a bottle of aspirin.  Fingers reaching out and grabbing the bottles.  Popping open the aspirin, throwing four into her mouth and following it with the water.

Looking around the room, seeing the sand colored walls with dark blue accents, her clothes were draped on a chair, clean it seemed.  Making a face as the taste of alcohol lingered in her mouth, untangling herself from the very expensive feeling blankets and wondering just where the hell she was.

Getting into her clothes, on alert for some reason, because she was in a strange place, in a strange bed, and god knows what strange person had brought her home.  Creeping towards the door, having found her cell phone in her jean pockets and all her money folded neatly in the front pocket.  She certainly wasn’t in a robbers presence.

Peeking her head out of the door, looking both ways, seeing that there was no one around she stepped out into the light of the hallway.  Still holding her shoes, walking as quietly as she could, and stepping onto the iron stairs with care.

“Sneaking out?” asked a voice from below.  Alice grimaced.  It wasn’t a voice she instantly recognized.

                “Um, depends…”

                “On?”

“Where the fuck I am?” asked Alice with a giggle as she turned the corner and saw Samantha Vance sorting through a pile of proofs.

“My house, you silly blonde girl,” smiled Sam.  “There is coffee over there, there is fruit in the fridge.”

Alice didn’t know what to say, so Sam played it comical instead of serious, “I didn’t poison the fruit…,” said Sam with a serious nod, her tussled hair not yet combed, spiking and seemingly having a mind of it’s own.  The tomboy stood, moving to the fridge, removing the fruit, consisting of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and what looked like melon.  Making a grand gesture, Sam popped one of each into her mouth and chewed, “See, no poison…”

    1. You write so well I forgot that you were anti Tibette…lol…bring on the suitors for Bette I just want her to be happy. As freaky as Alice is why was she all panicky at the thought of sleeping with Sam. I am anxious to see where this story is going…keep posting.

    2. J. …..My dear, I would never complain about an early post. I wish you would post everyday. Although I am mostly a silent reader on almost all of the other stories and at the risk of sounding redundant, I have to tell you I love your writing, and I not so patiently await your next post. Carmen is going to have a shit fit when she sees who the model is. Quin again is a very complex character it seems, and it seems that Brian is very good at stirring the crap. Another chapter…sooon….Pleeze!

    3. Ok one handed, You know anything you write I;ll read. When I think of the rake I can’t help but laugh. I just know that everyone would love to see it appear again with Alice. A couple a week is great. that way we get to read longer. Not more just longer. LOL thanks for posting. bvh

    4. I very happy to see that you started a new story. And I really loved it. And I still don’t know what you have in store, the only thing I figured out was Shane would become the prada model. And now I’m waiting to se haw it will unfold between shane/sam/carmen/ro. Just gonna wait for my fix now ~wink~

    5. Aha, I see you brought back another one of your characters. Curious to see how “Pez” is going to function in this fic. Well at least Harlequin got a smack in the face with Helena being Pez’s agent lol, great angle on that! Can’t say it enough J, just adore your writing style and skills. The Ro-Shane thing is something I really love, wonder how that is going to play out. Keep up the good work J, you’re the best!

    6. Grrr…I think you’ve just roped in another regular…I’m never going to be able to concentrate on my studies…can’t wait to see what you have in store for Bette ;D

    7. There will never be a complaint about you posting early from ANYONE. Carmen will probably have a fit for a good page & a 1/2, I’ll be surprised if any work gets done with those two in the same room :-) Can’t wait to see how that plays out. Damn, Harlequin is tightly wound, what bug is up her butt?Great chap.
