Collision Course 4.47 – Change
Tina burst into the house that she used to call home, looking around, left, then right, instantly seeing Bette on the floor of the kitchen, the phone on the floor next to her, “Christ, I’m calling 911…,” said Tina thinking that Bette was hurt.
Bette’s hand shot out, grasping Tina’s, “I’m ok.”
“What happened?” asked Tina sitting down next to Bette, who rested her head on Tina’s welcoming shoulder. The closeness brought a fresh sense of how much they’d shared through the years. Love, loss, lust, laughter.
“Kit…,” whimpered Bette in the softest childlike voice that Tina had ever heard coming from this always strong woman.
“What about Kit?” asked Tina in a soothing tone, smoothing Bette’s hair, falling into the caretaking role instantly, it had always been Bette’s role, but now, it was Tina’s turn.
“The… she went into labor earlier tonight… then…. I don’t know, Angus was crying to hard… but…,” sobbed Bette, feeling that if she said it, it would be real and she didn’t want it to be real, she’d do anything to undo it.
“She didn’t make it,” whispered Tina the news slapping her hard, the pit of her stomach lurched hard. Putting an arm around Bette, pulling her closer, that was when Bette began to sob harder, letting the tears spill fresh from her ebony eyes.
“I don’t know how I’m going to live my life without her in it, she was always my rock, why did she go through with the pregnancy?” asked Bette, pain resonated in her voice, violating the silence of the room with its absurdity. Bette knew why she’d done it, to start her life fresh, free from all her past mistakes, a clean slate.
“Because she loved Angus and wanted to spend her life with him and her child,” said Tina, knowing exactly how Kit must have felt, that life growing inside of her, something to cling too during the darkness of the world.
“What… Do I do?” asked Bette sounding like a lost child again, and Tina felt her own tears falling onto her cheeks. Wiping them away absently, wanting to be strong for Bette.

ok Firstly…OMG!! Wasn’t George just adorable?? Poor guy! Ok..you fooled us all!! Damnit!! Poor Poor Bette…I didn’t even think about Kit!! But is it wrong of me to say thank god it wasn’t Jo?? and now we see that Jo is human…I hope Bette can make it up to her…and Tina seems to be still lingering on her past with Bette…Alice and Quin did fantastic together with the duet and thank you for bringing back Rosita! And of course Thank you for posting again so quickly…you definately rock!!
Hmmmm – Shane got off fairly easy, she didn’t actually have to talk to Sam. I guess she is doing what she does best. Poor Kit! If Jo is human will she still be able to do her work at the FBI? It’s funny I am also the anti Tibetter but now that you refuse to put them together I almost want to see that relationship. I know I’m twisted. Thanks for posting early!
Did the baby not live?? Glad San is okay, Bette packs a mean jab Rosita is back. Tina is still by herself. Poor Bette to lose the last memeber of her family. Been read A Fish Out of Water. Thanks bvh
How much torture can one character take? First Bette loses the love of her life, Tina. Only to her her back as a friend but now she’s fallen for a vampire who doesn’t have her powers anymore. I have to admit, that was one of the hottest things about Jo. Now you kill off Kit?! Granted I don’t think anyone saw it coming, but still couldn’t you kill off someone else? Quin isn’t huge yet…Angus could have bit the big one…but Kit? Cruel, JM, just cruel. I’m not gonna stop reading though – this is one of my favorite stories right now.
Yea! Good for Shane and Sam…finally! But Kit, huh? That’s just so sad :( It’s good to see Quin performing again. As for Jo…she really did make a deal w/ the devil, didn’t she?
A happy reunion for everyone but Kit. I guessed right but not too happy about it :( did her child survive? At least you gave her a fitting goodbye…
Of course, Kit. That explains the newspaper coverage and CNN. That’s awful… and still, I’m guiltily relieved that it wasn’t Jo. Speaking of, what has this Natalie done to Jo? Dagger? Stomach? I don’t like the sound of that. At all. I do like the idea of Alice singing with Quin, though. As long as all they do is sing, cos Ro just got back. And *finally*, Sam and Shane! I was really pleased to see you posted, so thanks for that. And because I’m a greedy so-and-so, I’ll ask for more. I want to see Bette make it up to Jo. As always, I’m looking forward to the next chapter. Thanks JM (and you too, rogue… even if it was Kit).
I’m sad it was Kit but relieved it wasnt Jo. I hope Amy is really out of the picture where Jo is concerned b/c B&J need to stay together. NO AMY! I also hope there’s nothing between Quin and Alice for Ro’s sake. I’m glad Shane finally decided to do something about her feelings for Sam b/c she was starting to get on my nerves just sitting around. Thanks for the post.

Whoa….should I feel guilty that I’m relieved that Jo didn’t die? Well…in a way…she did…but whatever. Kit is gone. It sucks. But I’m glad everyone else is back together…Now dear Janet…what evil has thou concocted? So looking forward to that ‘hurting’ at twilight :p And of course…Sam and Shane….FINALLY! lol. Yes, you really do love us, that’s why you’re slaving over a hot keyboard at ungodly hours…but you’re evil like that so it suits you :p Thanks for posting…now get your butt to work…please? Wait…what about the Kit’s baby?
Awww poor Kit. Rosita is back, YAY! O.K Bette gets a pass for slapping Jo, just cause she’s grieving & pissed. Jo is human again? Say it ain’t so. Turn her back! Shane finally steps up. Quin needs some lovin’ too. Didn’t expect the update, but we luv ya for it. All Hail JM! :-D
