Quin sat in her apartment, missing Tina more than she was willing to admit.  Trying, in her mind, to put things right in her head, she simply hadn’t told Tina where she was going.  Scratch that, she’d lied to her, outright, and Alice had been right, she was a bitch for doing it.

An hour ago, Quin had been rummaging in her closet and had come across a bottle of whiskey, lord knew what it was doing there, but Quin had sat there, staring at it for the longest time.  Sloshing around the liquid in the dusty bottle, Quin’s green eyes mesmerized by it.  Finally, after a lot of longing to take even just a small sip of the tempting liquid, Quin had gone into the other room and booted up her computer, searching for new music online.

The phone rang and Quin snatched it up annoyingly, “Better be good.”

“Hey Aunt Quin,” said Daisy at the other end of the line, “You know the song you needed for Hope’s Corner?  That love song you oh so wanted.  The one that you said was going to make the movie soundtrack?”

“Yeah….,” said Quin with a grimace on her pretty lips.  Daisy had never written a love song in her life because Daisy didn’t do love, she did sex.  Never had she met a woman or a guy that she didn’t want to bed, but none had ever even given Daisy pause for thought.  At her age, Daisy was far more experienced in life than Quin had been at that age.

“I’ve got it for you, Spencer wrote it all by her lonesome, and it’s…  well, the ballad of a lifetime,” said Daisy into the phone, turning and watching as Spencer sat on the edge of the stage, her legs wrapping around Riley, who’d been there at Existence.  “It just…it has legs, Quin.”

“That good?” asked Quin with trepidation.  A song that had legs would be something that could be played over and over again and no one would get tired of it.  Years later you’d hear it and think of the first moment it had drifted to your ears.

    1. WTF,Wow that was a shot in the dark. wish I could get into your head just once. Forget that,I.m dizzy enoughas it is without trying to figure you out. You had everyone in this one, No one died Bette without Jo is like a sailboat without a sail. Tina and Quin will need to be together. Like I said I.m dizzy enough without trying to figure you out. Why would some one Hit Shane???? thanks and tale care.

    2. La la la la la BAM! I’m laughing really hard b/c I can’t believe you do these things. In your last life you wrote Bambi, huh. Who else could hurt a pregnant women. I really like the interaction with Alice and Natalie. Not a big Paige fan but I can see her with Helena more than anyone else. Tina and Bette drunk would have been fun but it looks as if they will be in the hospital. Is this your way of keeping Lara in town without Shane actually having to ask her? I hope things are good with you. Still liking your new job? Thanks for your continued postings. I enjoy them very much.

    3. I saw the words jaded rogue there at the top of the chapter… and I immediately braced myself. Look. I’ll go straight to the begging stage… let Shane be fine. Let it be, I dunno, luggage that fell on her head. An innocent, yet unfortunate, accident. All can be well, yes? YES??!!?? *breathes deeply* Okay. Other things… Daisy, biding her time? I have a feeling she’ll win out in the end. Nat and Alice… sometimes just friends is nice. Quin: she should try again with Tina, if Tina’s willing. I have a feeling Tina’s not, but we’ll see. Bette… I don’t think her and Jo are over, yet. Maybe Jo’ll turn up at the hospital, cos I assume the night out is now off, and rightly so. Hmmm, I need the next post like, now. I gotta find out what’s happening next. Post soon, please? And with Shane alright? Please? Cheers, JM/JR… thanks for the post

    4. I’m so relieved that someone else laughed at Shane being hit! I was afraid I was a monster. I hope that when my head stops spinning it is facing forward.

    5. That ending was like a blow to the stomach. Only YOU would be the one to …I’m guessing carjack, & hit a pregnant woman w/ three kids in the backseat. WTF!!! Shanes accident should force EVERYONE to come face to face in the hospital waiting room. Can’t wait to see what’s up next.

    6. You’re killing me here, woman! Just when I think I may have figured some things out… another freakin’ twist! Loving the story, as always. Would still like to see Tina and Quinn back together. Think I’m liking the Shane/Lara pairing. Look forward to your next post.

    7. Drama drama drama!!! LOL Always great to read a chapter by you. Some people write drama just for the sake of drama…you know, they make it up as they go along, getting so caught up in the fun of it that they just keep making up new drama over and over again. You however make me believe that every twist and turn, every ounce of drama was always in the plan…and that you are not just adding it willy nilly just for the fun of it. Thanks JM!!
