“We weren’t speaking about Quin, we were talking about you, Spencer, and the elephant in the room called Jo Wheaton,” said Tina forcefully.

Bette sighed, “What is there to say?  That it’s over?  I’ve said that, and I’m going to move on with my life.  Leave my past behind me and find something to take my mind off Jo Wheaton.”

“Easier said than done,” muttered Tina softly, handing Bette a cup of coffee.  “You were in love, you still are….”

“I am not,” stated Bette coolly.  Wrapping her hands around the cup of coffee, willing the warmth to calm her, “In fact, I have a date tomorrow night.”

Tina stammered, “Y-y-you have a what?”

“A date, with someone you know, Alexandria Pezinni, she was at the art center today, it seems one of her former girlfriend’s was a painter,” smiled Bette.

“Alexandria Pezinni, the one that is in the wheelchair?” asked Tina, her mind racing with the thought of Bette pushing around someone on a date.

“Actually, no,” said Bette then seeing the look on Tina’s face, deciding to explain, “She was paralyzed, but she’s walking now.  She’s a very brave woman.”

                “Yeah, brave…,” muttered Tina.

“Tina, what’s wrong?” asked Bette, reaching out and touching Tina’s shoulder.

“Nothing, I mean, has it been long enough, for you to start dating again, after Jo, I mean?” asked Tina, feeling the hot blush rushing to her cheeks.

“I think that I’m interested in this woman, she’s gorgeous and…”

“Yeah, she’s cute,” said Tina, with a grunt.  “I mean, good for you, you should be happy.”

Bette grimaced, “I’m not getting married, and it’s a date with food and an art exhibit, that’s all, Tina.”

Tina nodded, moving to the counter to busy herself with making something to eat, hands aimlessly pulling things from the cabinet in front of her.  Bette wasn’t sure what to say, “I’m going to go, I have a ton of work to get done, good night.”

Tina turned, putting on a bright smile, for Bette’s benefit and said, “G’night.”

Bette walked away, turning and giving Tina one more look, but Tina was ignoring her now.  Smirking, she walked to her car, wondering what was wrong with Tina.

    1. Well, for once, insomnia has led to something good. Welcome back! That was some really smokin build up with Natalie and Al, loved it. I liked Alice sticking up for her… (girl?)friend with Spencer. And I see Tina is jealous, too bad. If she snoozes, she’ll lose… again. She’s lost Quin for good, and Bette is moving on. Glad you had fun, JM, and good luck with the new job. Thanks for the chapter, cheers!

    2. Spencer is a brat. Love Natalie and Alice that was cute and now sexy At least Alice got her in bed. Tina is jealous, but Bette is not moving on from Tina. Just trying to keep from running to Tina. Just some wee baby steps. Glad you enjoyed your vacation. Must have done you a world of good. Your writing is smooth in this chapter. Was going to say sweet,do you do sweet? Good lucky with your new job. Thanks for no mass killing and Alice might have found the love of her life. thanks bvh

    3. Wow…dare I hope for a B&T reunion??? Cute interactions between Alice & Nat and nice touch helping Tina/Quin come full circle with their relationship. Great anecdote chapter to your others =) and did I read it right? you’re going to continue with Le Bandwagon??? Sweet, it must be your new job that inspire or made you do it…lol, good luck and thanks.

    4. I soooo need your energy, what with the new job & all, congrats to that. Natalie & Alice were very cute together. Glad to see Natalie was just doubtful & not purposely misleading. With all the things that Spencer has faced, I tend to forget that she is a teenager prone to bitchy, childish behavior, luv what Alice had to say to her. Angelica makes me laugh, I can just picture the attitude that a child that age can give. Loved it.

    5. Okay, Bettyvhall just said everything I was going to! Spencer is a brat, and Alice shows a glimpse of her Yoda side, and then switches right into her sexy side! Natalie is cute when she is nervous. Tina is jealous…Bette does want Tina (in my opinion) but is stopping herself from jumping right back into it. Maybe because there is a part of her that is still in love with Jo, she doesn’t want Tina to only get a part of her heart. Yet, I think there is a part of Bette that is still in love with Tina. Besides, Bette should know that when she loves, she loves completely…not part-ways. What a nice surprise to wake up to this! Thanks!!

    6. Hey JM, “lighthearted is moi”… not the first descriptive word that comes to mind, but I like that you are keeping up your giggle factor…too cute! Gotta love the Alice. Setting Tina straight, setting Spencer straight, and then making sure Natalie wasn’t too straight. Great chapter, even the continued B&T teasing. Today is Friday so I am anxiously awaiting your juicy morsel!

    7. JM so glad you finally got Alice and Natalie together. Funny you had Alice remember everything. So dense Bette is! Well lets see how Bette date goes with this “new” addition to the story. Doesn’t Bette and Tina notice that their daughters conversation is a little mature considering her age?
