Coming up for air – part forty one
Bette leant back in her chair and looked around at the animated faces around her. Everyone seemed to be talking and laughing all at once. Bette couldn’t remember the last time she had felt this contented. They were almost through Tina’s birthday dinner. Tina’s food had been great, the wine exquisite, and the company even better. Twelve people were gathered around the dinner table at the apartment. Bette’s eyes wandered from one face to the other, silently celebrating her friends and family. When her eyes fell on Tina, Bette felt the unmistakably electrifying surge of pleasure that always made her gasp and her eyes glaze over a little. Tina was talking to Kit’s date, Thomas. They seemed to be hitting it off cause Tina threw her head back and laughed in earnest at something Thomas said. Bette couldn’t help the giggle that left her lips at the sight and sound of Tina’s infectious laughter.
Tina turned her face and looked into Bette’s eyes. Bette knew that at that moment Tina stopped listening to what Thomas was saying. Tina was wearing her hair up that evening, leaving her long, graceful neck and bare shoulders visible to Bette. The light from the candles was reflected in the gold flecks in Tina’s hazel eyes, making her eyes sparkle and shine back at Bette.
“Hi…” Tina mouthed at Bette from down the table.
“Hi beautiful…” Bette replied and winked at Tina.
Tina blushed and reciprocated Bette’s smile. She turned back towards Thomas and excused herself before getting up. She walked around the table to Bette who turned in her chair to face Tina. Tina crouched down to face Bette. She leant in and brushed Bette’s hair away from her ear.
“Say it again….” Tina whispered with her lips to Bette’s skin.
Bette reached up and put her hand behind Tina neck. She pulled back a little to look at Tina.
“Hi beautiful….” Bette whispered with eyes of worship.
“Hey gorgeous….” Tina responded before she leant in and kissed the woman who the entire day had made Tina feel as the luckiest woman on earth.
Alice was watching the adoring couple from her seat next to Tina’s empty chair. She smiled at the sight of her favorite couple so openly displaying their affection. She continued to watch as Bette whispered words that illuminated Tina’s face with bliss. With teasing fingertips Tina drew patterns up Bette’s bare upper arm, making her bicep twitch in pleasure.

So let me get this straight.. **no pun intended***You like a demanding woman who begs? But the more I demand the slower the pace, hmmm…..interesting. ***smiling with mischievous grin *** What motivates you to increase the pace? **are you blushing yet?**LOL! I’m tickled that I was able to impress you with my “powers”. **puffing up my feathers, smiling** LOL! It rained for an entire week? Yikes! Next time I’ll call on my powers for good & not evil. You could have prevented it by posting sooner…so technically, it’s your fault! LOL! Seriously, it’s wonderful to hear that your feeling better. B & T have wonderful friends. Charlie offering to be a donor is such generous act of love . We could all use more friends like Charlie in our lives. Hugs to you for posting another brilliant chapter. Ciao.
Loving this story anker. Bette and Tina have come a long way, I can’t wait to read more so post soon.
Some how I missed the last chapter but now I am up to speed per se. I am excited to see if they go through with the insemination and try for the family that they both want. Both are probably very scared because of what happened the last time. Not only did they lose the baby but they lost each other. This time it will be a better experience for them.

At last! I was about to put an APB out on you, anker… you had me worried. Okay, the chapter: B & T are really lucky to have such selfless friends as Charlie and Jeremy. Charlie being the donor is the perfect solution, he’s a friend, he looks like Bette, and that they’re not insisting on parental rights this time around takes a lot of pressure out of the decision to accept his offer. Bette and Tina couldn’t ask for more. And it’s far better than going “fishin in the pond” for a donor. They might have gotten an old boot, or a bald tire, or… worse. As for the rest… I love the way Bette can make Tina blush with a couple of innocent words… too cute. And I think Tina had better stop with the cracks about Bette’s age. A woman’s supposed to reach her peak around 40. Anyway, I think Bette could be 80 and hobbling around with a Zimmer frame and still be game. Nice of Tina to let Bette “win” tho… Right, I’ve gabbed enough, see what happens when you go away for so long? You can’t shut me up. Thank you for the chapter, it was wonderful as always. Anker, you are just something else. These last two chapters were great and I don’t care how long you take to post a new one because when you do….well what can I say but it is so worth the wait. Your writing is so very good that this story could be about any two woman and I would still read it and want more. What they have accomplished together is what we all hope to have and if any of your readers do have this I hope they cherish it. Now I must say that anker you are the epitome of the word friend. As someone whom as come to know you because of this site I must say that anyone who can call you their friend is a very fortunate person. Thank you so very much my friend!

This is a fantastic B&T story. I really enjoy reading the emotions that they go through personally, and as a couple. I also love the additions that you have made to the group. Charlie and Jeremy seem like really great friends and very supportive of bette and tina…that is just sweet!

Thank you for taking the time to reply personnally. It is much appreciated. Now this chapter showed how much love Bette and Tina have for one another. There was a real tenderness and gentleness between them. The care and attention they each bestowed on the other was awesome. Romance is alive and well and living in your fine words. As for Charlie’s kind gift; it may have knocked Bette and Tina for six initially but now they are both thinking seriously plus talking about it. the good times are here and rolling along. Aww. Adorable chapter. I knew when you introduced Charlie as the male Bette he would probably be the donor. But I’m glad they moved off the shared parenting thing for sure. I can’t wait for them to be a happy little family with a baby. I love how sweet they were together in this chapter.. across the dinner table. Just how it should be. PPS.
