Alice and Bette laughed as Tina walked back to the table to join them. They were having lunch at the Planet and Bette was enjoying her time off. She had officially been off of work for three days and Tina finally agreed to let her out of the house to spend time with Alice. Tina was due in a month and a half and there was a lot to get done before the baby came. Bette had been spending her days trying to make sure everything was ready and running whatever errands Tina thought she needed and Tina agreed Bette deserved a break. The first day Bette was off they didnt leave the bedroom and Bette had never known Tina possessed so much stamina. She damn near wore Bette out and on the second day Bette jumped out of bed before Tina had the chance to stop her. With all this free time Bette didnt know what to do with herself so she kept busy doing little things around the house and it was driving Tina crazy. Bette tried to keep Tina happy but when she finally told Bette to leave for a little bit Bette knew Tina was at the end of her rope. Bette smiled as she remembered how hard they laughed when she got back and how sorry Tina was for being such a ***** to Bette. She had made up for it over and over again and now Bette knew why pregnancy was so trying on a relationship. If she were the old Bette she would probably be so fed up with Tinas moods that she didnt know what she would have done. But not this Bette. This Bette understood what Tina was going through and let her go through it all the while never leaving her side.

Alice smiled at them and patted Tinas stomach lovingly. Bette and Tina smiled at Alices behavior and Tina leaned in to kiss Bette softly on the lips. Alice rolled her eyes at this and leaned in to whisper some advice to Liz.

Hey you in theredont worry that your mommy has been moving around so much lately. Shes justumexercising while she still can.

Tina swatted at Alices head playfully and turned a deep red while Bette laughed and just pulled Tina in closer to her. Bette leaned down and retorted to Alices smart-***** comment.

Dont worry Lizaunty Alice is just jealous because she hasnt exercised in a while.

Hey its not my fault. Dana is out of the country on some tour.

Shell be back soon. Then you guys can exercise until you pass out.

Tina winked at Bette and Bette almost choked on her coffee. Alice laughed as Bette coughed loudly and gave Tina a look that said, youre dead. Tina just smiled sweetly at Bette and leaned in for another peck on the lips. She didnt know if it was just the fact that Bette was home more, or a reaction to how great Bette had been through this pregnancy, but Tina really couldnt get enough of Bette. Even when she would be in one of her moods and she would snap at Bette, all she really wanted to do was ravish her and make her feel how much she loved her. Naturally Bette had not been complaining about Tinas horniness of late, but Bette often wondered if all this ***** was good for the baby. Bette figured that Liz could feel everything Tina did so when they made love and Tina would *****, Bette wondered if the baby felt it too. She had asked Tina about that once and Tina just laughed and said she hoped not otherwise this kid was going to come out a nymphomaniac.

So Tina, when can we do your shower?

What?

Your baby shower? When do you want to do it?

Its okay Alice, you guys dont need to do that. Youve already done enough for us.

Oh come on, its tradition. Besides, me and Dana got you guys some really cute stuff and I cant wait to give it to you.

Tina smiled at Alice and Bette just shook her head and laughed. Alice was terrible at keeping any kind of secret so the fact that she had bought stuff for the baby and didnt tell them until now was almost a miracle.

Well how about this weekend?

Bette smiled at Tina and leaned in to whisper in her ear.

Were never going to hear the end of that are we?

Tina just shook her head no and smiled at Alice. Alice really had become another addition to the family and Tina was glad to have her around. Bette also liked having Alice around because it diverted Tinas attention away from her when she was in a crabby mood and Bette needed all the breaks she could get. They left the Planet shortly after that and Tina said she was tired and wanted to lie down. Tina didnt sleep much the night before so Bette took her home and tried to help her get comfortable. After rearranging the pillows behind her back almost a dozen times Tina finally fell asleep and Bette breathed a sigh of relief. She knew Tina would only sleep for a few hours since the baby seemed to be very active during the day, and night, and she hoped Tina would at least get some rest before she tired herself out completely. Bette went over and sat in the chair facing the bed just watching Tina sleep. She let her mind drift back to the times when her and Tina were not doing so well and she couldnt believe she almost lost everything she loved because of her irrational decision making. Bette sighed as she remembered everything that her and Tina had been through in the past eight and a half years. The fights, the make-ups, the laughter and the tears. It was enough to tire her out and soon Bette fell asleep sitting in the chair with her feet up on the bed.

What the *****? Bette opened her eyes to find Tina leaning over her shaking her gently. Bette looked around in confusion for a second and she was totally disoriented after having fallen asleep.

What? Whats wrong?

Nothings wrongbut I was wondering if you could get us some dinner? Im starving.

Sure.

Tina smiled down at Bette and kissed her forehead softly. Bette smiled and stood up carefully making sure to wrap her arms around Tina and pull her in for a tight embrace. Tinas belly was making this a difficult task and Bette finally gave up trying and just kissed Tina on the lips before walking to the bathroom to wash her face before going to get the food.

What do you want baby?

Bette shook her head as she smiled to herself and rinsed her face off. Tina had been craving a different place every week, but this was the third time this week that Tina wanted Chinese food. Bette left and returned thirty minutes later with her arms full of take out boxes. She set them down and looked around for Tina but didnt see her. Bette walked back to the bedroom but after looking in there and not finding Tina Bette started to worry. Then she noticed the light was on in the nursery and Bette tip toed across the hallway and opened the door slightly. Tina was standing near the window looking out into the backyard and she was softly talking to the baby.

Bette was silent as she listened to Tina have a heart to heart talk with the baby. Bette felt herself on the verge of tears as Tina softly conversed with their unborn child.

and dont be scared of anything Liz. There are a lot of things that are worse than whatever it is youre trying to do. Oh I cant wait for you to meet everyone Liz. Theres Alice, shes your godmother and believe me she will never let you forget it, shes great Liz. She can be a handful sometimes, but I know youll love her. Shell probably try and convince you shes the cool one in the group but dont believe a word she says. And theres Dana, shes the sensitive one. She will seem a bit dorky but thats okay baby, shes full of love and good intentions. And then theres Shane. Shell always look out for you and keep you safe. If you ever need anything she will always be here if we cant okay? Just remember that. And theres your aunty Kit. Shes great Liz, shes really talented and shell probably try and teach you about music and culture. Listen to what she says okay? She may not look it but shes smartshes been through it all and she still came out on top

Bette smiled as tears ran down her cheeks. Listening to Tina was making her love her even more and Bette couldnt stand not saying anything any more.

What about me?

Tina turned around with a surprised look on her face. Bette walked towards her and put her arms gently around Tina before kissing her on the lips.

How long have you been standing there?

Long enough.

Bette smiled at Tina and Tina looked down and patted her stomach lovingly. She blushed a little as she spoke softly to the baby.

And there is one more person I cant wait for you to meet baby. Lizthis is Bette. Shes your other mommy. Shes the one whos been here to take my ***** through all of this and shes the woman I love. Yes you heard righttwo mommies. No daddy but thats okay. Men arent all that useful anyways.

Tina smiled at Bette and Bette laughed softly before bending down and talking to Tinas stomach.

Hi Liz. Remember me? Im the one who read you all those books that your other mommy thought were funny. I cant wait to meet you. We have so much to talk abouttheres so much I want you to see and do. But the first thing Im going to teach you Liz is love and how to love someone. Because thats all that really counts in this worldif you dont have love you dont have anything.

Tina smiled and tears formed in her own eyes as she watched Bette talk to the baby inside her. Tina never thought Bette had such a gentle side and it amazed Tina that Bette could be like this.

Oh and theres one more thing. Under no circumstance should you ever stick anything metal in any kitchen appliance.

Tina laughed and pulled Bette up to her face. Tina placed a soft kiss on Bettes lips before Bette smiled and pulled away.

Well I hope Liz has more kitchen skills than you do otherwise its going to be a long eighteen years babe.

They laughed and walked out to the kitchen to enjoy their dinner. Bette watched Tina as she ate her chow mein and Bette never thought she could feel so fulfilled by anything. They went back to bed shortly and as Tina was falling asleep she smiled knowing that in one month their family would finally be complete.
