    Carmen and her daughter, Alex plan a day at the movies while Shane is at work. This soon turns into a Nightmare out of Slumber.

    Chapter 11- Nightmare Out of Slumber

     

                A couple weeks later, Alex woke up to the sound of clattering. She ran into the kitchen and saw her mother had pulled out the silverware drawer and all its contents were now on the floor.

     

    Alex: I never knew you were so clumsy.

     

    Shane: Morning, could you umm I’m so fucking late.

     

    Alex: Sure mom, no problem Madre and I will see you later.

     

    Alex moved to pick up the silverware and Shane kissed the top of her head before pulling her into a hug.

     

    Shane: I love you.

     

    Alex: I love you too ma

     

    Shane: Be good for your Madre, don’t get into too much trouble you two.

     

    Alex smiled and nodded as Shane kissed Carmen’s cheek then her stomach.

     

    Shane: I meant three of you!

     

    Carmen: Bye honey.

     

    Shane: Love all you guys, bye.

     

    Alex smiled as she picked up the silverware.  Carmen sipped her orange juice as she read the paper.

     

    Carmen: Hey Alex, what do you say to going to the show today?

     

    Alex: Sounds like fun.

     

    Carmen: Well how about we leave in two hours?

     

    Alex: Sure.

     

    Carmen: Alright then, I need to go find something that doesn’t make me look pregnant.

     

    Alex: You mean fat?

     

    Carmen rubbed her stomach.

     

    Carmen: No, pregnant.

     

    Alex: Well good luck!

     

    Carmen: That was mean.

     

    Alex laughed.

     

    Alex: Sorry ma, you’re not fat you just walked right into that one though.

     

    Carmen pouted and walked into her room as Alex continued to collect the silverware off the floor.

     

    Shane walked into WAX to see a huge line-up of people. She knew today would be a long day and that wasn’t just because of her horoscope that she read this morning either. Without hesitation, she got straight to work.

     

    Alex grabbed her cell and wallet and shoved each into its respective pocket of her worn-in jeans. She took one more look in the mirror and grabbed her mini bottle of gel, shoving that into its pocket as well, while smiling. She then ran out of her room and into her parent’s. She found her Madre in a pair of jogging pants and an oversized t-shirt as well as sunglasses.
