Crave, Chapter Four – Bette’s Point Of View

Bette wasn’t sure where she was going, she just knew she had to drive.  She hadn’t had a full blown attack for years, since she met Tina actually.  But now that those feelings were rearing their ugly heads again she realised that this had been on the cards for a while, the signs were there, if only she’d realised sooner none of this mess would have happened with Candace.  It was just a reaction, a stupid reaction.

She drove for about an hour, in no particular direction, and she was amazed when she realised where she had ended up.  She was outside the gallery where she had first met Tina.  She got out of the car and walked over to the window, the gallery had changed very little.  The comforting familiarity of her surroundings took Bette’s mind back to the evening she met Tina.

Until that night when Eric had turned to Bette whilst holding Tina round the waist and said, “Bette, I’d like you to meet my girlfriend, Tina Kennard.”  Bette had enjoyed a long and adventurous ride on the singles merry-go-round.  It had certainly been interesting, she had been quite a popular attraction and it had even been said, in jest, that Bette could have been in line to take Shane’s ‘Casanova’ title had she not met Tina.  Bette thought of that night, the girls had all been at their house for a poker night and after Shane had zapped everyone’s will to play by totally cleaning them all out they had begun a game of truth and dare, suggested by (yep you guessed it) Alice.  The questions had turned quite personal and when it came to Bette’s turn Alice (well, who else would be in charge of truth and dare!??!) had dared her to tell everyone her ‘number’.  Under normal circumstances and especially if she hadn’t been slightly inebriated she would have refused to take part in such a childish game but with the help of a few shots and egged on by Alice she had given her ‘number’ receiving whoops and cheers and was crowned (from Alice!) the ‘Queen of The Scene’.  But she didn’t hold the title for long as Shane admitted that she had passed that mark a long time ago.  Alice had nearly choked from the look on Bette’s face and started slapping Bette on the back shouting, “You coulda been a contender kid!”

    1. So far good story. Candance cant even be called a substitute; she was just sex. I dont hate Candance; hopefully she’ll find her own woman instead of trying to be with one whose married.

    2. Great story. I hope Bette has a chance to talk to Tina before she takes off. They are ment to be together so Bette has to win her back and Tina should not run away. Post soon i can’t wait for more.
