    Cure-all, Chapter 18

    CHAPTER 18

    It was late.

Tina had left her grandfather to his cigars and offered Bette to show her the guest room, as she was probably very tired after this long day. Neither really wanted to end the night, but they were indeed exhausted, especially after the rollercoast of emotions they had both experienced.

    And there was always tomorrow…

Tina laughed as she explained to Bette that Dana and Alice had spent numerous summers and other holidays in Walheim, and that there wasn’t a time when they didn’t fight about the room they would get. Which was hilarious since most of the time the three of them would end up sleeping in Tina’s room anyway.

Bette laughed, thinking that she would gladly promise not to fight about a room as long as it ended up the very same way, when Tina opened the door of a large and beautiful bedroom, filled with antique furniture and a huge old-style bed in the middle of the room. There were flowers in various places, and the bed was covered with a large and colorful patchwork quilt. It was absolutely gorgeous.

Bette left her bag on the floor and approached the bed. She touched the quilt reverently. It was soft and the patterns of the different assembled pieces were magnificent.

"My grandmother made it." Tina said softly, approaching from behind.

"Tina, it’s… stunning!" The brunette murmured, in awe.

"Yes…" The blonde replied gazing at Bette, "It really is…"

Bette couldn’t see her, but she felt the intensity of her stare. She turned around and their eyes met. The tension that filled the room in that instant was overwhelming, and it took all of Bette’s self-control not to pull Tina into her arms and claim her beautiful lips.

Tina couldn’t think. Her magic bubble was back – had it ever left her? – and everything that wasn’t Bette left her mind. The world faded away, and in that moment, they swore they could hear the door to their hearts open…

But the click came in reality from the door of the room and Mopsel strolled inside, oblivious to the intense moment he had just interrupted.

Tina tore her eyes away from Bette’s and turned to the window.

"I, huh… I’ll open the window for a bit. You might want to let some fresh air in."

Yes, fresh air definitely needed! Bette thought as she let out a deep sigh.

Tina opened the window wide and stayed there, breathing in the cool air of the night.

    1. This is an amazing story, pls one request…..see it thru to the end. You have started this beautiful journey with us and I can only ask that it continue to it’s conclusion whatever that might be. Too often life gets in the way of the writers and their stories and us readers are left to hang…I’m sitting on the edge of my seat!!! PPS

    2. Well, I hope you realize, K, that it’s gonna take more than the vines ( first I had read the “vibes” and I realized it worked too. Hahaha ! ) to reassure us as far as Bette and Tina’s future… Anyway, it seems I’m not the only one who loves Tina’s Pappy, huh ? It’s a consensus of opinion : he has to stay ! LOL ! But how come I have a feeling there’s still a long long road ahead before these two can actually be together ? I don’t know, I think I can smell the impending drama… Or maybe it’s just the smell of an incredible twist… Either way, I’m gonna be on my guard… Loved this chapter, K. It was beautiful. Somehow, I wish Helena would show up soon so that Tina can start to realize what a big mistake she made marrying her and things can move along because, let’s be honest, I have no doubt at all that both Tina AND Bette are loyal persons with an iron will, but they also seem to be pretty passionate and they won’t be able to fight their mutual attraction for years, right ? So… Unless something tragic happens to Helena – which is definitely not the kind of twist I’m hoping for – Tina is going to have to make a decision at some point… PPS !

    3. If Pappy trusts the vines, I’m trusting the vines! Got to agree with everyone else, Kword, perfect chapter to an amazing story. Love the way you describe the tension between the two. I’m hoping your favorite part of the story pertains to a certain little pink booklet… that should be just the catalyst to send Tina over the edge. Always look forward to your posts!

    4. I trust Pappy’s vines also. Now if there can be the end of the marriage to Helena without hurt feelings. Besides it seems that Helena is married to any and everything but Tina.

    5. oh god, all I could think of was that the dog has the book!!!! I have such a book fetish!!!! Never mind I’m sure it can’t be that important or u wouldn’t have let the dog take it. Sad about T’s parents. Divorce seems to be the answer for Tina and Bette Porter. Thank u for posting and I’ll look 4ward to the next one cause I really am freaked out about the book.

    6. So good. The scene at the door at the end of the night reminded me of the intensity of the B&T scene at the hospital door when Melvin was in the hospital.

    7. Great chapter! I really like this story…So even her Pappy see their connection. But if they find their way to each other, at least one heart gets broken. Poor Helena but I believe in fate so Bette and Tina have to be together! PPS Jay

    8. I love Poppy.and his vines. Lets hope that Helena finds someone she can’t live without and tells Tina so Tina can find her heart and love at he end of the rainbow. veryemontional

    9. Great chapter! They are so in love with each other and don’t know what to do. I hope the Helena issue fixes itself nicely. I think her and Tina are better friends…not really in love. pps

    10. Ahhh…the wisdom of the old – both her pappy and the vines have foretold the coming of Bette. I hope they are able to spend some more solo time together in the upcoming days – the tension is intense! PPS

    11. I just love this story I would so love to see the original. When are you going to let us in on the name? Poor Bette is trying to be a good friend, but, she is looseing the good fight. Poor Helena is just clueless and I know she will be hurt by all this but you can’t stop fate. PS (:
