The girls and Mark were waiting to hear the results about Christina. Mark was pacing back and forth. He raked his fingers through his hair and stopped.

“What’s taking so long?”

Shane looked up at Mark. “Mark, just relax. The doctors are doing their best to make sure everything’s going to be all right. Everything’s going to be fine.” Mark nodded his head.

“I hate waiting, I can’t stand it.” He leaned up against the wall. Shane sighed and sat back in her seat. Carmen looked at Shane and then took a deep breath.

“Are you going to call her?” Shane looked at Carmen.

“Call who?”

“Cherie Jaffe.”

“Are you serious? I told you that nothing is going to happen. I can’t believe you brought her up.”

Carmen sighed. “I just need to know if you’re going to-.” Shane stood up.

“I’m going to have a smoke.” Shane walked to the closest exit door and walked out. She grabbed the pack out of her pocket and grabbed a cigarette. She brought it to her lips and lit up. She leaned against the wall and took a drag. Carmen came out and saw standing against the wall.

“Why did you walk out?”

Shane stood up and put her hand in her pocket. “Carmen, did you know what you just did? You questioned my trust. You’re becoming jealous.”

“I’m not jealous.”

“Then what is it? I would like to know.”  Carmen sighed and pushed her hair to the side. She dropped her head and didn’t say a word. “My point exactly.”

“Shane I just don’t want you to run off and fuck her, and then come back in bed with me. I have a feeling that you’re going to do that.” Shane dropped her head back and then looked at Carmen.

“I can’t believe we’re having this conversation! There are more important things going on right now then me and you.”

“So you’re saying that our relationship is not important.” Shane took a drag of her cigarette and put it out.

“I don’t think I can stand here and listen to you. I’m going home and tell me how everything went.” Shane grabbed her keys out of her pocket and walked away from Carmen.
