‘What the *****?! ‘ The phrase repeated itself in Dana’s head for what seemed like the millionth time that night.

She sat alone in her lounge, dawn was breaking and she knew it was a start of a new era. She picked up the phone and hit speed dial #1

“Hey, it’s me”

“Dane now really isn’t a good time…”

“No, Alice, this will only take a moment. I’m sorry if i woke you but I just wanted to say Thankyou for kissing me tonight. Will you meet me in the plane tfor lunch later today?”

“Erm…OK 12:30?”

“12:30 sounds good. See you then.”

Dana hung up and smiled to herself, laid back on the couch and fell into the deepest sleep she’d had in months.

The Next morning

As Dana woke up just after 10am, she found herself immediately wide-awake. She had only had 4 hours sleep but she felt strange but completely refreshed.

She went straight upstairs and got in the shower. She decided that she was going to make herself look as good as she did a few weeks back after her makeover from Shane and Alice.

After an hour of hair straighteners, make up and 7 changes of clothes, she finally settled on the outfit she had travelled to palm springs in.

‘This is it’ she thought to herself as she picked up the Subaru keys and headed to the door.

Alice left for the planet at around 11; she had been up most of the night with Tina and decided she needed some serious caffeine before facing Dana. She couldn’t figure out how she was going to explain her feelings ‘When did I go from being the sarcastic best friend to jealous would-be lover?’

Two coffee’s later she was feeling more like her usual self. She had decided she was just going to tell Dana straight and lay it on the line. ‘Dana I’m in love with you and I want to be with you. No matter what’. Yes, that’s exactly what I’m going to say, before she can even say anything on the subject.

Her stomach flipped as she thought about Dana calling her at 6am to thank her for the kiss. But the butterflies soon subsided as she thought about Tonya. ‘How will Dana react to all this? If her feelings are mutual, which judging by that kiss last night, they are, what will she do about Tonya? Theyre engaged and knowing Dana, she will want to end their relationship properly before starting our own. God Alice, pull yourself together – You haven’t even told her how you feel and you are only one step away from planning the wedding!’

With that thought she smiled to herself and looked up at the door, and there she was. Looking hotter-than-ever stood Dana Fairbanks. The woman she is secretly in love with – well, it won’t be a secret for long.
