    Author Notes: This chapter came together very quickly. We are nearing the end. But we still have a lot to get through. I will do my best to end it just as thoroughly as I started it.
    Summary:
    Bette arrives at the apartment for Date #3. Tina has a lot of surprises in store for Bette but nothing could prepare either of them for the bomb Bette drops.

    Shane was sitting on one of the loungers when Bette emerged from the pool.

    “Hey!”

    “Hey.”

    “How long have you been here?”

    “Not long. How long have you been in there?”

    Bette shrugged. Shane handed her a bottle of beer.

    “Not long.”

    Shane knew that meant at least an hour. She looked at her friend. Bette seemed relaxed but she knew better.

    “You okay?”

    “Yes. Why do you ask?”

    Shane shrugged. 

    “Why do you think?” Shane said in her Shane way.

    “It’s just dinner.”

    “It’s never JUST anything when it comes to Tina for you. Seriously, how are you?”

    “I don’t know. Ever since she popped up at the opening, she has been popping up everywhere. I can’t stop thinking about her. I can’t stop seeing her. It was easier when she was in Vancouver.”

    “Easier?”

    “In a sense. At least I could reconcile it in my mind that she lived in Vancouver which is why she wasn’t living in our house with me. Now…”

    “Now, she’s back in LA and she’s not living in your house with you.”

    “Exactly and it’s fucking with me. I told her I wanted to spend more time with her.”

    “To date her.”

    “Yes. To date her. Then she drops this bomb on me that my entire family has been lying to me.”

    “Beh…”

    “I know you thought you were being helpful but I still feel betrayed.”

    “Feel what you feel. You are entitled to your feelings. I just hope you know we did it from a place of love.”

    “Yeah…I know.”

    They both took a drink. Bette took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.

    “What time is she expecting you?”

    “Eight.”

    Shane checked her watch. It was a little after six.

    “Okay. I’m gonna go so you can get ready. Need anything?” Shane asked as she stood up.

    Bette shook her head no. 

    “It seems as though the love is winning. So, you need to make a decision. Things can’t stay this way…for too much longer. Ya know?”

    Bette nodded and looked down. 

    “Really give these dates a chance. Okay?”

    Bette sighed.

    “Okay.”

    “And Bette…”

    “Yeah?”

    “If you do decide that it’s all too much…being with Tina…”

    Bette raised her eyebrows in anticipation. Not sure what the younger brunette was about to say.

    4. This story is absolutely amazing! I hope you update it soon because I’ve gotta know how this turns out. You have captures each characters personality and essence perfectly. Your details and interweaving of flashbacks is amazing.
      There’s some repetition but it seems to work.
      I feel like I’ve been on this rollercoaster ride with them emotionally. I have literally laughed and cried, yelled and cheered.
      Absolutely amazing story!
