    Marcus: I told you I didn’t do anything now get these fucking cuffs off of me.

    Policemen: you need to calm down sir.

    Marcus: all I need is to be let out of these cuffs now!

    Policemen: guys please will you let this man up and uncuff him.

    The two policemen pulled Marcus off the ground and unbound his wrists, both men feeling really guilty for wrongly accusing him.

    Marcus: you guys just made the biggest mistake of your life, I am a lawyer and you havent heard the last of me.

    Marcus then turned his attention back to Tina he will deal with the cops later.

    Marcus: Tina are you ok?

    Tina: yea I’m fine, what about you?

    Tina was really grateful for Marcus and felt bad for putting him in this situation, she never wanted to involve him at all.

    Marcus: hey it happens, I’ve seen worser.

    Marcus was trying to make light of the situatiom but inside he was boiling with rage, the policemen wrongly racial profiled him and they will pay for it but tonight was about Tina and making sure she was safe

    Policemen: um sorry sir about all this really, we heard screaming and…

    Marcus: saw a black men inside a house with a white women and assume he was hurting her…am I correct?

    Marcus looked the officer dead in the eyes, the policemem felt bad for the misunderstanding honestly.

    Policemen: I admit we misunderstood but lets not get past the situation at hand.

    He turned to Tina.

    Policemen: ma’am we need to know exactly what went on here. We already know that your husband assaulted you, but can you start from the beginning it’s important that we get your statement.

    Tina sat down on the couch with Marcus and the policemen, while the other two policemen remained standing. She was about to make her statement when she was interrupted by the officer who was standing outside.

      So sad that victims stays with their violent man or wife, because they are afraid they will be alone and think they can’t raise their child alone.

      Before 2006 the law in Brazil was very bland.
      Today: The Case No 12051 / OAS, Maria da Penha Maia Fernandes, was the tribute to the 11,340 case law. She was a victim of domestic violence for 23 years of marriage. In 1983, her husband twice attempted to assassinate her. The first time, with a firearm, leaving her a paraplegic, and second, by electrocution and drowning. After this attempted murder she took courage and denounced. The husband of Maria da Penha was punished only after 19 years of trial and was only two years closed to revolt Maria with the government regime.
      Due to this fact, the Center for Justice and International Law at the Ibero-American Committee for the Defense of Women’s Rights (CLADEM) that, along with the victim, formalized a complaint to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights of the OAS, which is an organ responsible for filing international communications arising from violation of these international agreements.
      This law was created with the purpose of preventing or attacking men murdering their wives, and protect the rights of women. According to the rapporteur of Jandira Feghali law “law is the law As the court decision is not discussed and is fulfilled, this law is for us to raise a flag that says.!.
