    Don’t forget to breathe

The blonde walked out of her bedroom doing up her last button and pulling out her white collar over the black suit, that fitted her just right hugging her curves. Slipping her feet into a black pair of heals she was ready for work but not forgetting her red lipstick to finish it off, she was about to apply it when she stopped.
Rach? She shouted Rachel? There was still no response so she quickly put on her lipstick and grabbed her briefcase that was lying on the bed. On reaching the door a voice from behind her caused the blonde to pause.
No kiss before you go? Asked a brunette with long brown hair, smiling the other woman walked back and placed a long kiss on her lips, before the brunette pulled away wiping her mouth. You put it on already.
Sorry baby, but at least youll have me on your lips all day.
Since you put it like that. Will I see you tonight? Rach inquired.
I have to go round Alices tonight, but tomorrow Ill call you later promise.
Ok babe, have a good day at work Tina. She gave her a wink before she shut the door.
It had been a good 8 months for Tina everything was starting to get on track, she liked Rachel she was a nice woman. They had so much fun together and she enjoyed the easy flow of it, and the comfort when she woke up she was tightly in anothers arms. Rachel was a new director on the scene and they had met on a film Tina had been working on, it had started out as dating and now 8 months had flown past.
Sliding into her car she felt the cold metal of her necklace hit her skin pulling it out from under the white shirt she wore, the ring on the chain caught the light. At that moment her wedding ring had never look so beautiful, and that just caused her pain so she quickly stuffed it back away beneath her clothes. And like every day memories of Bette and their love came flashing into her mind as she remembered the last time she had seen the brunette, it was nearly 14 months ago.

Pass me a box. Shane said as she finished taping up the one she had in front of her.
Dana walked over to her with a new box as well as a black pen. Whats in this one? She asked crouching beside it.
That ones books. Shane looked out of the patio windows and saw Bette standing by the pool and her heart ached for her. I cant believe she is really going. Dana stood up and looked in the same direction as Shane.
I know it just wont feel right. I always thought they would work it out.
Some wounds can never be healed. Shane informed Dana with a weak smile before getting back to her packing. Dana continued to watch Bette until she heard a cry from behind her followed by a thud. She and Shane turned around to see Alice lying on the floor surrounded by boxes.
Turns out Im not as strong as I thought I was.
Oh babes are you alright? Dana asked affectionately.
No. The blonde shook her head rolling up her jeans to reveal a red knee, to which the other woman kneeled down and kissed it better. Shane watched this exchanged with a smile. Turning back to look at Bette, Tina was now pulling open the door to walk outside and joined her.
The blonde stood behind Bette for a long while before she took a few steps to stand beside her looking on the beautiful garden that was starting to get over grown. They simply stood there taking in each others company.
I never did have your eye for gardening. Bette broke the silence.
Hopefully the next owners will take care of it. The taller woman closed her eyes in pain the thought about other people in this house stung her deeply. We had a lot of good memories in this place. Tina mused.
Yeah. She smiled through her pain. Trying to get that damn couch through that front door.
Before we realised we could just bring it round the back. The blonde finished. The first night when me moved in I felt complete. She looked down realised how badly it had all shattered. I just came out here to say good luck in New York Bette they are lucky to have you.
    Thank you Tina.
Your very welcome Bette. It seemed so formal to her this is not how she would have seen them saying their final goodbyeWell she never expected them to have a final goodbye. With one more look upon such a beautiful face Tina began to walk inside.
Tina. The woman stopped walking but did not turn around. If I dont have another tomorrow with you and I never see your amazing face I just need you to know I love you and I always will. With every ounce of courage she had Tina walked out of those doors and out of Bettes life, every part of her wanted to scream I love you and run into strong arms but she didnt. Walking out of their house tears hit her and did not leave her for weeks that followed.

Well I stopped. Tina said aloud to herself as she started her car and pulled away heading to work, pushing all thoughts of Bette away. It all felt like a lifetime ago and as if it was happening to someone else and she had seen it through different eyes.
    *******
We have to tell her. Shane said standing up. We have to tell her Bettes coming home.
