Don’t Say a Thing – Chapter 4
Tina did the same and they felt each other’s faces. It was nothing erotical – it was as if they wanted to confirm the other was really there. Silent tears were streaming down their faces, falling from their cheeks, but they didn’t notice. All they noticed was each other.
“Bette,” Tina finally whispered. The sound of the blonde’s voice saying her name sent shivers down her spine. Her hand cupped Tina’s face, her thumb tracing her upper lip and then her lower lip. She felt how she was trembling. It was as if both women were in a trance. They were rudely taken out of their bubble when Bette’s cellphone rang.
“I’m so terribly sorry, I really am.” Bette grabbed her cellphone and checked the caller ID. “It’ll only take me a minute,” she promised Tina.
“Tasha – I really can’t talk right now. I’ll call you back, but don’t expect it to be soon – yes – okay, I’ll talk to you later. Take care!”
“I’m ever so sorry,” Bette apologised again when she shut her cellphone down. “That was Tasha.”
“Is she your…” Tina trailed off, expecting Bette to know what she meant.
“Oh – no! No, not at all. She’s just a really good friend of mine. No, absolutely nothing more.”
Bette didn’t want Tina to think that she was involved with someone. She knew she stood no chance against a husband and a child, but she didn’t want Tina to get the wrong ideas.
“Let’s both shut our cellphones down so we can talk properly,” Bette proposed.
Tina did so. The silence fell again and there was an undeniable tension in the air. It was Bette who broke the ice with the inevitable.
“So, you’re married. And you have a daughter.”
“Yes.”
“She’s beautiful. She looks like you.”
“So they say. Look, Bette, if you don’t mind… I don’t really wanna talk about Henry or Elisabeth right now. Let’s save that for later. I need to know how it went for you first.”
Bette started talking about her life. She minimalised the number of women she had shared her bed with and only said something of Jodi briefly.
“Nine months is a pretty long time,” Tina said. “How come it didn’t work out?”

Great chapter, love your stories
now how can Bette refuse an offer like that!!!Tina should get a divorce and get back with Bette PPS
awe at least they were honest with each other!! so it seems that both parents were involved in the missing letters? :)PPS
why didn’t Tina get Bette’s letters? so both their parents kept their letters? please have Tina have a heart to heart talk with Henry, put a whole lot of drama there if you want, and let them separate with Elisabeth staying with Tina. B and T together, please! You’re really making me cry with this one. PPS.
great chapter Darn,Tina get a divorce and do this right.
Great chapter. Looks like Tina’parents wern’t as understanding about her lifestyle as they professed to be. Henry seems to be yesterdays news after Tina gets a taste of Bette there will be no going back.
WOW! How could Bette refuse Tina’s request? It looks as though Henry will be exiting the picture soon. It’s sad that his own daughter is acting more mature than him. I think Tina’s half-sister Shane kept the letters from Bette — she probably thought she was protecting her from more disappointment. PPS!
Oh Yeah! PPS:)
i hope bette tells her to leave her husband first… its the right thing to do… so i guess tina’s parents were also keeping the letters… PPS
Hey! wonderful chapter. I think the same as B&T…I hate Melvin too. I hope that Tina will leave Henry or she breaks Bettes heart. Bette would also be the better ‘father’ than Henry is right now. Thanks for posting, can’t wait for the next chapter. And I feel very honored that you mentioned me in your authers note. Thank you…Love&Peace Jay
