Alice had her heard buried in the crook of Dana’s neck. After a few minutes, she fell asleep like that lying atop of Dana. Dana, however, lay there on the couch awake, gently stroking Alice’s hair. She was reveling in the security she felt with Alice. Alice always made her feel safe. As friends, as lovers, as partners it didn’t matter. Alice could always make her feel safe. Dana realized that she got the benefits, but Alice was the one offering the security. Dana didn’t offer that to Alice. Dana was never the one with the faith in life and the happy endings, so it was hard to offer the feeling of security, that feeling that all will be ok. How could she if she didn’t always believe it? As she laid on the couch, holding Alice, she knew it was her turn. She was the one who put them in the situation they were in and it was about time she stopped the pity party and took care of the woman she loved. Dana needed to stand up on her own and face her demons and her mistakes. Head on, face them and protect Alice. She owed her at least that much. It was time for Dana Fairbanks to be the grown up and handle the things that needed to be handled.
After some time she felt her eyes closing. “I will protect you. I’m not sure how, but I will protect you.” She breathed as she too fell asleep, safe and happy wrapped up in Alice.

Chapter 28
Tina was in the kitchen pouring wine for Julia and herself waiting for Julia to come back from putting Cara to bed. She felt guilty that she didn’t put her to bed herself, but she was just so raw from the day’s events that she quickly hugged and kissed her good night and let Julia bring her to the spare room.
Julia walked into the room, finding Tina staring off into nowhere with a tear rolling down her cheek. Tina didn’t hear her coming in and jumped when she felt a gentle hand on her shoulder.
“I think this might be a stupid question, but are you ok?”
Tina let out a small laugh, “I don’t even know.” She reached for the wine to hand it to Julia, but her hands were trembling and the wine ended up on the counter. “Shit, I’m sorry.”

Aww…you are killing me. I don’t know what to feel. My B&T loving heart wants them to work it out and my compassion for Robyn wants her to get what she wants as well. Twisted love…what’s a girl to do?I think Dana is right to worry about Alice’s safety. With a nut on the loose, It will be interesting to see how she tries to protect her. Great chapter as always.
L man i cant believe u left it there!! waitin for ur next
That’s a nasty way to leave things!!! What a cliffhanger. Don’t leave it too long before giving Bette a chance to explain herself…I have a sinking feeling about this. Looking forward to the next chapter, thanks for writing.
Nice to see an update to this. I feel the same way as Seahurst and HackGirl.
Damn good to see you back again! I’m one of the few but I’m rooting for Tina and Julia, any chance of that happening? :) And you’re keeping on the edge with the Danish stalker plot, something nasty is going to happen and I can’t wait. Excellent!
wow….you need to hurry!
Glad to see you updated! Dana and Alice are so sweet! Please don’t kill Alice or something in a plane crash or something…they just got back together! We all need some Danish fluff right now anyways aye!? Great update, and please post again soon!
I just caught up with this story, and I can feel it in my heart…you’re breaking them up for good aren’t you. Crap…I can feel it, and my heart is breaking. Dang, Bette isn’t going to get her family. Great story though, thanks.
Oh my! I’m so late with my comment but just caught up, I’m to rooting for Tina and Julia, Bette and Tina have been apart for too long. I feel its time for Tina to let go of her past and move forward and I hope its with Julia. Thank you.
