The cart comes to a stop in front of the active set as Aaron turns fully toward Tina. “You’re smart, Tina. That’s why you’re here,” he says. “But this?” He gestures toward the massive production in front of them. “This is bigger than your notes, your charts, your… whatever narrative you’re trying to push.”

Tina holds his gaze. “It’s not a narrative. These are facts I just showed you; the numbers speak for themselves.”

Aaron studies Tina for a beat. “You need to get fully on board with this project,” he says evenly. “Or stay out of the way.” He then steps out of the cart without another glance, already moving toward the set, calling out to someone as he goes.

Tina stays seated. Her jaw tightens as she watches him disappear into the chaos.

Around her, the studio continues moving, crew rushing past, actors resetting, someone calling for quiet on set.

The cart then slowly begins to roll forward again, carrying her away from the set. Tina exhales, leaning back slightly, frustration settling deep in her chest as she watches it all blur past…

The studio cart slows as it approaches Tina’s building, the hum of the lot fading just enough for her to gather herself. She exhales, still carrying the weight of her conversation with Aaron. She then looks over and sees Bette walking alongside Dena and just like that, Tina’s expression softens. “Hey, can you stop here?” she asks the assistant driving the cart.

The young man nods and brings it to a smooth stop.

Tina steps off, already smiling as she heads toward them. “Hey, baby…”

Bette turns at the sound of her voice, her face lighting up instantly. “Hey… there you are.”

Tina closes the distance and pecks her on the lips, quick but warm. “What brings you by?”

Bette lifts a white takeout bag like a prize. “Thought you might need this.”

Tina’s eyes widen. “You brought me a Frosty’s burger?”

Bette grins. “I did. Extra pickles, of course.”

Tina laughs softly, grabbing Bette’s lapel and pulling her in for another quick kiss. “You’re amazing, you know that?” She then glances over and catches Dena still standing there smiling.

    1. WOW, this was great! I’ve been waiting for this next chapter!! I really love your work! The way you weave so much content in to a chapter is masterful (or, mistressful )

      THANKS

      PS more soon, OK

    2. Nice one. Feels like Tina should get a new ob where she can do great things, get awards and show Aaron and his buddies how good and successful movie are made.
      Looking forward to more.

    3. I love seeing a new chapter of this story! Looks like Tina may have to branch out on her own from Alphaville. Aaron is a jerk.

      Can’t wait to see more!

    4. A little late with reading due to a city trip but a great chapter!!!

Michelle, you deserve everything you get from Bette.

Poor Tina, time for maybe a new job?

    5. This is very enjoyable. I laughed out loud at the vision of a distracted Dena driving B&T onto a live set. Well done, and please post more when you’re able.
