Carmen snorts. “And because you could never remember her kids’ names.”

Tina giggles. “Alice…” she says scoldingly.

“I allegedly didn’t remember their names, that was her version of the story, not mine…” Alice corrects, pointing at Carmen.

Carmen laughs and holds her hands up in surrender.

Alice turns and studies Tina for a beat. “You’re not letting this GiGi and Bette thing get in your head, are you? Because trust me, it was nothing.” She pauses thoughtfully. “Well… except sex. Lots of really hot sex. But emotionally? Nada.”

“Yeah, Bette already explained their dynamics, but thanks for that, Alice…” Tina mutters dryly.

Alice raises her glass. “Anytime….”

“I’m not jealous or anything,” Tina insists, shaking her head. “I just…” She exhales softly. “GiGi feels like someone Bette would’ve made sense with. Like if I walked into The Planet that day and somebody introduced her as Bette’s wife, I wouldn’t have been surprised.”

Carmen lets out a small laugh. “You mean as opposed to that bitch Michelle?”

Tina nods slowly. “Yeah….” She pauses, swirling her drink. “I guess it threw me off a little at first because even after all this time, I could still feel how easy they were with each other. There wasn’t that weird tension most exes have, ya know?”

“Well,” Carmen says with a smirk, “that tends to happen when most of your relationship was spent naked and dehydrated.”

Tina’s brows shoot up. “Thanks for the visual…”

“Sorry,” Carmen says with a laugh. “I’m just saying it never felt like some deep love connection or anything.”

Alice suddenly leans forward, pointing between them like she’s about to present a keynote speech. “Listen… It does not matter who Bette was dating, or in this case, fucking….”She then motions towards Tina. “Or whoever you were doing… You two are destined…you’re always gonna find your way back together.” She nods firmly. “Always.”

Tina glances down, smiling softly. “That’s sweet…”

Alice grins wider. “Like I always say, you two are like, what’s that movie, uh… Hancock.”

Carmen groans immediately. “Oh no…”

“Yes,” Alice continues, fully committed. “Stay with me. Will Smith, Charlize Theron, two hot, powerful, emotionally unavailable people who keep finding each other…”
