    Earlier he’d watched when Tina suddenly grabbed Bette’s hand and rested it on her baby bump so Bette could feel the baby kick. Bette had such a surreal look on her face as she bent down and kissed Tina’s tummy. The movement almost immediately settled down upon hearing Bette’s soft proclamation of “I love you angel, now be good for mommy”. She then stood up and hugged Tina kissing her full on the lips expressing her love for the expectant mother as well. Tina looked deep into Bette’s adoring brown eyes and reciprocated the kiss with loving sentiments of I love you too.

    Another first as the couple had never been so openly affectionate in front of Melvin almost forgetting he was in the room. When they pulled apart from the kiss, they fully expected to find him scowling in distaste but instead the expression on his face matched Kit’s. Both had goofy smiles pasted on their faces; each thinking ‘they belong together’ and so happy they had found their way back home to start their family.

    Coming out of his reverie Melvin cleared his throat and took a sip from a bottle of sparkling water before setting it back down on the glass top table. He was pensive for a few more minutes taking in his surroundings; the in-ground swimming pool with reflective lighting, the beautifully manicured landscaping, rock water sculptures, the gazebo and gardens. It was clear that Bette and Tina had invested time and money in making their home beautiful and welcoming. The décor wasn’t ostentatious but tasteful affluence was abounding in small touches throughout.

    Bette had given Melvin a tour of the second floor and showed him the floor-plans and blue-prints for the construction that was currently under-way. He was especially pleased to learn that Bette had drawn them up herself with Tina’s input. Although Bette didn’t paint like her mother, she had inherent artistic skills and ability to curate spaces for maximum effect. Coupled with Tina’s architectural and interior design ideas that she’d gathered from movie sets and location shootings in some the most exquisite structures in the world the result for their home improvement project was impressive, and the investment would surely pay off in increased property value.

      It has been a long while, but i am very happy you came back!

      Good for Melvin to make amends and admit he wasn’t a good father.

      I am proud of Bette that she is so commited to Tina and her daughter and told Melvin not to mess up, because her prority is to her family.

Bette definitely has her priorities straight this time, and Melvin knows this is his last chance to do the right thing, so I think we will see more positive family dynamics going forward.

    7. Hello Bat2012, have gone back to the beginning and have really enjoyed the story. It was great to read again. Melvin is a changed man and it is so lovely to see. Thank you. Welcome back with the new chapters, feels like a new story. I actually started with Ch. 12, then went back to the begining.
