The kids are starving when I return to the living room. As I make some pasta for them the phone rings. For a second I am nervous that Tina is calling. But it is Jody and Byron, twins that live down the street that wants Dana and Peggy to join them for pizza and a movie for the evening. Knowing that they are okay people I gladly give permission to the squealing children. But since it isn’t before six o’clock I decide to feed the kids anyway. The energy is starting to kick back after the flu, but I think that I stretched the limit by giving Dana permission to go to the movies to night; I surprise them with a new set of drawing equipment so I can keep them inside.
I do some cleaning, all the dirty clothes are in the washer and the dishwasher is hammering in the kitchen when I sit down and enjoy a cappuccino. I watch the news on BBC and then I grade some more papers. After a while I give the children a bath before getting them dressed. Poor girls are probably overdressed but I am not interested in another round of flu. “Give Jody and Byron’s mom the money, okay?” I kiss each of the nodding girls. The doorbell rings and Carla are standing there; ready to get the girls seated in their place. “We’ll be home around half past eight?” I nod my head and wave at the children.
When I return to the living room I log on and check my reservations. Being married to the owner of one of the most powerful companies in the US has it perks, especially when you are booking hotels. They have fixed us up with the penthouse suite. I book the company jet and a limousine. 5 years of marriage is up for celebration. Just as I close the lap top, Helena walks into the room. She is dressed in a PJ-pants and an oversized college sweater. She sits down on my lap by the computer, “What are you doing?” she says, “And where are the kids?” I nuzzle my head into her hair. “Nothing; and the kids went to the movies with the Carsons” I put up my most innocent smile. “You are impossible Porter” she jabs me in my ribs. “Hey, you’d crush my boob”. “Poor boob then!” she states while kissing it slowly. “Ah, it is not properly healed yet” I say with a vicious grin. I get a few more kisses before we stop it, Helena is still sick and I don’t want to make things worse. She leans in and her lips brush my earlobe, “When I am all better babe”. I feel the electricity grab my body, “I’m gonna go and take a cold shower baby” I say rising. “I’m gonna do some work” she reaches for her briefcase. “Naha sweetie, no work!” I push the briefcase further away from her. “But?” she gives me the Peabody pout; that I see that both our girls have inherited.
I shower and dress for the second time that day. I find Helena watching Tom and Jerry and eating a pop stickle. “Does it help?” I nod towards the discussed item. “It helps my throat!” she tastes it again with such interest that I need to look away, I’ve just taken a cold shower. “I’m just kidding babe” she smiles at me. “Are you hungry?” I ask sitting down beside her, placing both feet on the table. “Nope!” she changes the channel. “Well, you got to eat!” I admonish with love. When she shakes her head I just roll my eyes, the soup will be heated and ate anyway, mark my words.
Hours later the kids are in bed. We are lying on our bed propped up by all the pillows in the house. Helena is dozing at my shoulder and I watch my “Prison Break”-DVD. We are thinking about expanding the house so I’ve been checking up on contractors in the area. The girls needs separate rooms in a while and we might starting be ahead of time. We’re thinking about building another floor. “Are you sleeping?” I remove the pillows behind her head so her neck will be useful tomorrow. “Thank you” she says a little more awake. “You’re awake?” I say surprised. “I’m gonna sleep now” she tells me as she yawns. “I hope I feel better tomorrow! I have a surprise for you”. “Surprise for me? Great Helena you just messed up my night” I tell her giving her a little kiss. “You’re welcome” and with that Helena is off to dreamland. “Feel better honey!” just as I am about to switch off the lights, the cordless is ringing again.

I just caught up. I love this story and how you write it. It would be cool to see Tina become a family friend, but not to break up Helena and Bette.

wow, I absolutely love this story! I love Helena and Bette’s relationship, they’re so good for each other! As for Tina… She really didn’t have any right to be showing up on Bette’s doorstep like that and asking if Bette was happy with her. Of course she wasn’t, Tina acted like bitch, started sleeping with men, then wouldn’t let bet see Angelica at all. Angel probably doesn’t even remember Bette now
Bette and Helena in this story are so sweet and loving. Tina breaks up with Henry and the first place she goes in Bette. Hello, where was she 7 years ago. Maybe in time Bette can be the friend she was, but you can’t just show up and expect her to act like nothing every happened.

Wow…was that a little harsh for Tina? Maybe she just wanted to talk to a friend…but then again they didn’t end as friends so I guess the mood fit the situation. Bette was right she should have went to Alice or Shane. Maybe in time they can sit dwn and talk but they need to square things away concerning Angelica…right now Tina is high on emotions and might say something stupid. And did I read right? Does she have another baby on the way? This is some good stuff…keep posting.
loved the update. tina is a piece of work…um, i’ll treat you like crap and hope you figure your life out, oh and when my life is crap, i will call you to upset your apple cart..how self centered is that….love b&h-great chemistry. post soon!
well…I happen to agree with how Bette handle the situation..after all this is the same woman who didn’t allow Bette to remain in Bette’s life as well as it sounds like she’s pregnant by Hammerin’ Hank. Good for Bette for telling to go elsewhere AND for telling Tina that she needed to tend to her sick wife. I think for contractors …cuz I hope I’m seeing some foreshadowing, I think Bette should use Candace…and NOT to have an affair..I think it would be great to see Bette interacting with Candace and then showing that this woman really wasn’t an important person in her life. I see Helena very secure with Tina so I figure Candace won’t mean a thing for her and it will show Tina how wrong she was all of these years to be angry…Alright great chapter..loved the interaction between B&H they are very much in love iwth one another…great job!
Now it would be a twist if Tina was pregnant while she was married to Henry but she used Marcus’ sperm so that Angelica would have a full sibling and that is what caused the divorce to happen…this is fanfiction so that bring some drama…because that would still be Bette’s kid.
I think that bete was right with what she said to tina as tina did not make a move for bette to see her daughter for she and henry finish it between them and before they talk tina need to get her head around every thing that is going on in her life and she needs to learn that she should ring bette before she goes around there as bette may feel better if they talk somewhere else please post soon great update I love it
Another Great Update!!!! Bette was right in how see delt with Tina. I love Bette and Helena together in this story. Tina needs to help herself and leave Bette alone. Thank you PPS
well I’m not much for Belena so this is my first read of this, now I’m intrigued so guess I’ll be doing some backtracking…nice Bette /Helena relationship stuff, dammn you, lmao…. I wil read again…
