Feeling safe and wanted again – Chapter 3

    Chapter Three

“Hi, everyone, welcome to this premiere of the first full length student movie in the history of Chapel Hill High School. It’s called Waiting.
When we first began, we had nothing other than a little equipment. We didn’t have the story outline, the script or actors, editors, sound and so on. All we had was an idea to make a movie, but not about what and so on. So we started to work together. The students started to throw out ideas, and soon the ideas became a working storyline, then it was time for the scriptwriting. While some worked on that others started to work on locations, set design. We covered the whole production from start to finish. After 9 months we are done. All the students have shown themselves from their best. They’ve worked so hard and should be really proud of what they have accomplished. I know I am extremely proud to have been able to work with them on this project. But now, the moment you’ve been waiting for. It’s finally time for Waiting. Enjoy.” Tina says and walks carefully off the stage.

A little further back Bette watches Tina as she carefully walks down from stage and how she barely can take a seat because it hurts so much.

One hour and 15 minutes later the movie is done. It gets a standing ovation. The local newspaper wants interviews with the teacher and students. Which they get.

In the back Bette gives Megan a big hug.

“You were great Megan, it was a great movie. And Ms. Kennard was right, you should be proud.” Bette says and smiles at her niece.

“Thank you Aunty Bette. Are you coming with us or?” Megan asks.

“I’ll join you later, I have something to do before I can come over.” Bette says.

“Okay, I’ll let dad know you’re in town and to make up the guestroom.” Megan says with a smile. She gives her aunt another hug and then runs off with her friends. Moments later she sees Tina walking towards her. The theatre is almost empty now.

“Hey, it was a great movie. You did good.” Bette says with a smile.

“Thank you, but they students did all the work.” Tina says.

    1. It’s a relief to get Tina and the baby away from that idiot, now if Tina will continue to follow thru and not go backto him no matter how much he begs or how many tears he sheds. He will not be sincere and he will only get worse especially when she presses charges against him. Hope she knows she will have to testify aboutthe abuse and his attorney will try to crucify her, all acording to eric’s testimony. Thanks for posting.

    2. It’s encouraging to see that Tina has readily accepted Bette’s help and is making the right decision to get herself and her son out of an abusive situation. Her journey has just begun. Hopefully she will remain steadfast and not be persuaded to turn back. PPS Great story and well written.

    3. It’s not easy to up and leave an abusive relationship when it’s been going for years. It’s good that Tina accepted to make that step and more importantly it’s great that she has Bette’s professional expertise in that matter. I’m not sure if Bette is aware of the full implication she set herself in on the personal level. She promised to help her but the healing road is long and full of ambushes as regaining one’s self-esteem isn’t easy but it’s a good materials for a Tibette fic (wink). Thanks for posting regularly and read you soon.
