Chapter ThirtyOne

The front door opens and Michael walks in. He hangs his jacket in the hallway and make his way into the living room.

“Hi, guys, good to see you.” He says as Bette stands up to give her brother a hug.

“It’s good to see you too.” Bette says.

“Hi, Tina, I’ll give you a hug later.” Michael says giving her a smile. She’s still breastfeeding Evan.

“Hi Michael, he’s quite hungry tonight it seems.” Tina says with a smile. Just then Evan decided that he was done. He turns around on his stomach and then crawls over to Bette.

“Mama.” He says and takes Bette’s face in his little hands. Bette smiles and gives him a kiss on his nose, which made him laugh. She then looks nervously over at Tina who smiles back lovingly.

“Anything you guys want to tell us?” Maryann asks softly with a small smile.

Bette and Tina looks at each other and smiles. Bette replies, still looking at Tina.

“Well, yeah.” Bette says and then looks at Maryann, then Megan and Michael and back at Maryann. Tina does the same. “Tina made me a very happy woman a few weeks ago, by agreeing to date me.” Bette says as she takes Tina’s hand in hers and softly squeezes it.

Maryann smiles from ear to ear.

“Well, when I got passed my insecurities and fears, it wasn’t that hard to decide. She’s been great from the beginning and as time went by, other feelings surfaced, feelings that I couldn’t hide anymore.” Tina says, looking over at Bette. “And when I finally admitted it to myself, I jumped in and she was there to catch me.” Tina says with a smile. She feels the comforting squeeze from Bette.

“I’m so happy for you guys.” Maryann says.

“Thank you.” Both replies. Evan was starting to get sleepy, he started rubbing his eyes.

“We should get this little guy to bed.” Tina says as she stands up. “You want to come?” She asks Bette softly.

“Yeah… We’ll be back in a few minutes.” Bette says as they made their way upstairs.

Once inside the guestroom, Bette closed the door.

“I figured they will ask some more questions, so now they have a few minutes to get used to the idea.” Tina says with a smile.
