Chapter ThirtyFive
Brad runs to Bette’s side. She’s lying holding her neck and gasping for air. She has a shocked and panicked facial expression. He takes over holding his hands over the wound, as to try and stop the bleeding.
“Where are the paramedics?” He shouts into the WT. “You’re going to be okay, Bette, hang in there, fight.” Just then they come rushing through the door. He covers the wound until the paramedic says he’ll take over. They work quickly and get her out and into the ambulance in just a few minutes. Brad follows and stays close.
“Bette, don’t give up, fight it, you’re going to be okay. Think about Tina and Evan. Fight.” Brad shout out to Bette as the paramedics close the backdoor and drives off towards the hospital.
In the car they cover up the wounds, she was shot multiple times, some more life threatening than others. 7 minutes after they left the scene, they arrived at the hospital.
She was wheeled right into the operating room.
Back at the scene, Brad was in shock, he didn’t see it happen this way. All though they got the killer, it was still a sting going wrong in a way.
He talks to Paul who has entered the house.
“Hey, Paul, can you take over? I need to get to the hospital, but also I need to stop and talk to Tina. Can you handle things here?” Brad asks.
“Off course, we’ve got everything under control. Go, we’ll come by after. I’ll pray for her.” Paul says, giving him a kind pat on the shoulder.
Brad runs outside and runs the block to Bette’s car. He starts it up and drives off towards his house and Tina’s apartment. He thinks about what he’s going to tell Tina. He doesn’t know much about how her condition is, but hopefully she’s still alive. He calls the hospital before he reach home, hoping that he could get some information.
“Nashville university Hospital, how may I help you?” A woman says.
“Hi, I’m detective Brad from the Nashville Police Department. My partner detective Bette Porter was just brought in after a shooting. And now I am on my way over to Bette’s partner with the news, I was wondering if you could share any information at all about Ms. Porters condition?” Brad asks.

As soon as possible Tina needs to let Bette’s brother and wife know what has happened. Mary Ann would want to be there even if Michael can’t. Bette’s gonna be alright, it takes time, stopping the bleeding is the big thing. Thanks for posting.
You writers are really testing our resolve for our girls, in this story Bette is shoot multiple times and in another story on the site Tina is in coma from a head injury at work, these girls are going have to find another line of work. I am still holding on to hope that it will be ok. Do we so love Chicago Code.

Wow!lots of developpements since the last post I read in early december (lately RL was tough…)Just before Tibette moving outside town, you take Bette down? Make ker ok fast. It’s maybe the occasion for Tina to show her that she’s a solid and reliable person.
