First, Last, Forever ch. 1
The least twenty years of our lives flew by. Every moment had played out just like I had dreamed it would, if not better and more exciting. I had gotten my Doctorate in Art History with a minor in teaching and opened The Bette Porter Art Academy. The years have been kind and at fifty-five I am still teaching, painting, and throwing elaborate art shows and dinners. Today Tina and I were hosting Sunday dinner, a tradition the framily has kept after all these years.
"Babe, Alexander called, they can’t make it tonight," Tina said, walking into the kitchen where I had started to prepare the meat for our bbq.
"Are they stuck in the airport?"
"Yeah, rain delay," she said and smiled. After all these years, her smiled always melted my heart.
Tina went back to school and got her Masters in Film Making. She followed her dream and now directs movies. She’s one of the most sought after directors/excutive producers. She still works with Helena Peabody at Shaolin Studios. Tina is Helena’s money maker, she’s the reason why the Peabody legacy will live on. When Peggy had passed on, on her death bed she told Helena how proud she was of her. She was glad that both her daughters were happy and successful in life. Tina was happy to be doing something that she absolutely loved.
"What? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"I’m thinking of all the ways I could show you how much I love you," I said and wrapped my arms around her and I kissed her. You’d think at our old age, we’d have slowed down but that isn’t the case. We make love regularly, we run daily, work full time and still make time to have fun with our friends, kids and grandkids. It still seems so odd that we’re grandparents.
"Momma B! Momma Tee! Stop, ugh, I didn’t just get in to catch you guys groping each other," Angelica exclaimed and both Tina and my face lit up. Angelica was almost twenty-one and was on spring break. She followed in both her mother’s footsteps, attending Harvard then NYU. She had applied and got in for the fall semester. She was like Tina and is a very smart young lady, she worked hard and was able to graduate a whole year early. Like her Momma B, has an aptitude for art, but is a flim maker at heart. She would graduate with a Bachelor’s in TV and Film Editing, and then onto NYU for her Master’s in TV, Film and Music Editing, with a minor in Art History.
