Before they knew it the morning had come and gone at it was approaching midday. Bette and Tina were totally unaware that time was passing them by; they were enjoying spending the weekend in bed, intimately exploring each other, and just being together. It felt like it had been so long since they had time to do just that.

Tina grabbed her bag on the way out, and they headed to the L.A. Fire station, in Bettes car!!!.

They arrived about 20 minutes later. Tina sensed Bette was a little nervous. Tina took Bettes hand and walked into the station, Its Ok babe, theyre great people, youll see.

Tina wandered around looking for her team, still holding Bettes hand, practically dragging her around the station. Bette was impressed that Tina was comfortable enough to do that. Tina spotted 2 of them, Richard and Natalie, and wandered over with Bette in tow.

Tina introduced Bette properly, as her girlfriend. Richard and Natalie were a bit shocked, Tina could tell by the look on their faces, but they were very nice to Bette, and genuinely happy for Tina.

After the nice to meet you formalities, Richard was the first one to make conversation with Bette: I think we owe you a huge thank you Bette. We all have noticed the change in our Chief; shes not so.grumpy these days. I assume thats your doing? Richard extended his hand, and shook Bettes. Tina slapped him on the arm.

Tina: All right babe, Ill just go see the Captain, then well go Richard is a real fan of your gallery.

Tina left Bette with Richard and Natalie. Bette stood there listening to Richard tell her all about how much he and his wife enjoyed the opening a few months back.

Bette: Richard, Id be more than happy to invite the two of you to the next one. In fact we are having an opening next Friday, Ill send some invites in with Tina, if youd like to attend, you too Natalie?

Tina went in quickly to speak to the Captain and obtain the following weeks roster. She returned to Bettes side a few minutes later, hearing the end of the conversation.

Tina turned and looked at Bette as they were exiting the station, You know you have a fan for life there?

Bette: Its no big deal, Tee. These people are an important part of your life. That makes them an important part of my life.

They stopped by the deli and picked up a few of their famous homemade sandwiches, and were on their way home.

Tina teased Bette all the way home. The sandwiches seemed to be forgotten, as had Tina’s grumbling tummy.
