Six weeks. It had been six weeks since Laurel had entered their lives. She was a happy baby much like Angelica was. Her birth date at the end of May was ideal in that the semester had ended and Bette essentiality had the summer off. Her FLMA time wouldn’t kick in until late August and so she had another six weeks until mid October before they had to decide about a return to work date.
Bette examined herself in the mirror and noted there was still evidence of baby fat but not much. Dr. Wilson had green lighted sexual activity a week ago still they had not made love since Laurel’s birth. She decided to surprise Tina at work and set the stage for the evening which she hoped would end in their resuming their sexual life together.
Bette stood outside Tina’s office after telling her assistant Karen that she did not want to be announced but wanted to surprise Tina. Sam was there and they both seemed intent on images on the screen.
“Wow” Sam exclaimed as they finished watching the ending of Bev and Nina after Nina confronted Bev. “Is any of this close to reality?”
“Yeah, it is. We have always had fireworks and that night was no exception” Tina admitted. “I wonder where she learned that from.” She leaned back and the sight of Bette and Laurel in the window to her office surprised her. A slow smile spread across her face as she rose to admit her wife and their youngest daughter.
“Hi Babe” Tina greeted her with a kiss, and then kissed Laurel who was fast asleep on Bette’s chest in turn.
“I thought I would surprise you” Bette said flatly. “If this is not a good time I…we…can come back later…or see you at home.”
“Don’t be silly” Tina took her hand and drew them into her office. “Sam… you remember Bette?”
“Of course” Sam replied rising from her seat. “Nice to see you again” she shook her hand firmly.
“And this is our newest addition, Laurel” Tina continued the introductions. The pride in her voice was unmistakable.
Sam peered at the child who asleep looked like a mini Bette. “She is beautiful, she looks just like you” Sam said to Bette.

Hey Kelika…I missed you and this story. This was short, but really good. I’m going to hate it when it’s over…Maybe you’ll consider a sequesl. Since Laurel is so “unique” it would be interesting to explore the story further…don’t you think????

I thought that Tina was going to “pull Bette’s leg” a little bit about sounding jealous, but when she saw that Bette was serious, she had the perfect response. I think now Bette knows how Tina felt after giving birth to Angie. I really do not want this story to come to an end. Not with Angie and Laurel around and then of course the two hot mammas.
