Chapter 13

Bette watched Tina’s eyes focus introspectively and silently sighed knowing the moment required respectful pause. She took a slow sip of wine and gave the blonde time to come to her own return to the conversation.

A concluding thought bridged Tina’s brief insight to the table for two; ‘…it’s true, there is no promise of tomorrow… just today… this moment…’ The fluid movement of her brunette dinner companion returning her wine glass to the table caught the blonde’s eye and she followed the path of Bette’s flawless arm and met the gaze of the brunette mommy.
Watching the hazel eyes travel the length of her arm to meet her eyes was more than Bette could bear. She felt the scan of Tina’s casual focus raise the small hairs in its wake and stood from her chair just as involuntarily.
Tina followed the brunette’s graceful rising from the table for two with light curiosity and heavy admiration. She smiled softly at the beautiful woman paused before her, expecting a polite explanation of need for the restroom.
“Dance with me?” Bette offered extending her hand to the blonde.
The surprise caused a subtle drop of Tina’s chin and an instant flutter of her heart. She closed her slightly parted lips and swallowed as she shifted taller in her seat. Her eyes dropped to the hand held out to her that had held the glass a moment ago and once again, her eyes traveled Bette’s arm to the soulful eyes of the brunette.
Bette’s smile curled playfully with her words. “I promise not to step on your toes…” Her voice dropped smoothly. “You can even lead if you like.”
Tina’s posture relaxed with the light laugh that escaped her. She uncrossed her legs and felt the heat of her anticipation color her cheeks as she reached to take the offered hand and challenge her equilibrium for her balance to stand.
The joining of their hands was deceptive; soft, gentle hands formed an innocent appearance of the intended good manners but the conduit their touch created merged with the excitement below the surface doubling the height of their senses.

Oh No you didn’t do that to us. I can’t believe you did that and I don’t want to call you a meanie but, oh what the hell, yes you are. lol pmsl. Loved the chapter, it was so sweet, warm loving and very romantic. The description of Tina hoping that Bette held on tightly to her until her legs felt strong enough to hold her, was just so senuous. They are both goners and we love it. Thanks so much for posting so quickly, even if it was with an evil grin. lol Can we get another one tonight? Yeah, I know, I’m a greedy pig.

this is so darn evil!!!! Seriously!! I thought the last one was bad and I read it before I left for school, and now I’m in school and you leave us here again!! Further down the cliff!! Isn’t that against the kind nature of your soul?? =(( Please tell me you’re gonna post soon, I can’t even comment on the rest of the chapter (it was excellent!) because I’m too busy throwing a tantrum about the way we were left behind (abandonment issues y’know?) Heh, way to end a chapter. B&T are having a much more romantic evening than mine. I saw a documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival on Climate Change. There’s nothing sexy about Climate change, even when Jessica Alba is on the panel after the movie!
