    Previously…

Tina stood, throwing her arms up in frustration. “What did you want me to do Bette? Things happen. I’ve sent you flowers, I’ve sent you food, I’ve done everything I can to let you know that I love you. That I miss you! That you mean the world to me!”

Bette ran a hand through her long, dark curls. She pursed her lips before the venom started to spew.  “I don’t want any more fucking flowers! They don’t mean anything anymore. I don’t want you to buy me lunch. I want you to – – -,” Bette said, before cutting herself off.

    “To what?”

Again, the tears threatened to fall. Her eyes grew misty, but her look was hard and fiery. “To help me handle this fucking grief! To help me get through the day without wanting a fucking drink!”

Tina looked confused. “What grief, Bette?”

The dark brown eyes grew wide. “What grief? Wow. I can’t….I can’t have this conversation with you right now. I’m going to say something I don’t mean.” Bette stood up, grabbed her shoes and headed for the master bedroom.

    …

Bette looked into her lover’s eyes, falling even more for the woman at her side. “Tina, I always want it to be ‘we’. I really love you.”

Tina continued. “For a moment, it didn’t seem like you wanted a ‘we’. Like you were ready to call it quits.”

The brunette held Tina’s gaze. “I was.”

    The hazel eyes teared. “Wow.”

Bette squeezed the hands in hers. “Honesty, Tina.”

Tears trickled from the movie exec’s eyes. “Then I will honestly get my shit together. I don’t ever want to lose you, Bette.”

It was like déjà vu; Bette was once again standing in the doorway of Tina’s office at Chaikentown Studios. This time she was holding a silver vase filled with blooming lilies and pink roses. She couldn’t help her broad smile. Tina was seated at her desk, engaged in an intense discussion on her phone. The movie exec was rapidly scrolling and clicking through information on her computer, her gaze focused on the wide-screen monitor.

When her office door had opened, she’d assumed it was Pam and hadn’t even looked up. She’d held up a finger, silently pleading for her assistant to wait until her call had ended.

    1. Thank you for the chapter!

I must say as how hot was first half of chapter i still love second part – with Bette’s apologize with words) And her spending time with Tina/Chris in her work.

P.S. By the way – i love this picture – what is JB looking at?:)

    2. Nice chapter…I’m not sure that an apology was in order at this stage of their relationship. I believed Bette was ready to have a separation at least during that argument – Tina did not recognize that Bette was still in grief. She had been out of town and working excessive hours. And their together time has been for the most part sex, sleeping and declarations of love. And with this visit to Tina and apology say Bette did not really mean that Tina’s behavior threatens their relationship? Is she saying – it happened, I was wrong – you (Tina) can continue to escape conversation in working excessive hours without time for them as a couple. Bette basically said there will always be a we no matter how you behave? If Tina had joined the apology with one of her own for neglecting the we and the responsibilities she has to the partnership. Tina needs to be as connected to Bette as she is with her job. I think Bette should have said there will always be a we as long as I perceive that you and I are trying to work toward being more connected and attuned to “we”. And the way to do that is to have time together and communicate. Bette did not have these thoughts without reason. Maybe the threat was a bit premature, but if Tina did not see that Bette was nearing her limit in tolerating the behavior, there certainly may have been a temporary separation

I think she should have said that she was grateful for Tina’s thoughtfulness in sending flowers and food. However. those could never be a substitute for spending time together and connecting to each other. After months or so of getting flowers and food, the arrival of such means there will be no Tina in the next few days. How easy something that is meant to brighten one’s day becomes a signal to more bad news coming. And in that respect, I don’t see why Bette would apologize but would stand pretty much behind what she said.

I really appreciate this chapter. I hope that these two are making their way toward a strong relationship. Love to see what happens next.

    3. OMFG!.. yep I’m on the floor. At work!. I need help getting up..

“Her legs were wide and open, her rose open and eager and begging for the crescendo of this symphony.”????????

That uhmm.. good line, good line.. yeah..

Oh and the rest was great too. Bette can see past her own self and see “Tina” very sweet after love making talk . Loved it thank you.. I will try to focus. Yeah like Bette said .. ???? Now what was I doing?..

    4. At the studio? Again? There must be some aphrodisiac in the air ;-) Very hot but still written in a very poetic way, MTS.

Bette was right to apologize to Tina. You say stupid things in anger but to insinuate that she would leave Tina is playing games and manipulative. They both have to work on themselves to be better for their partner. I think they are on the right track to honesty and trust if they continue to talk about their fears and needs.

Finally Bette got the chance to see Tina at work. She should tell her how impressed and proud she is of her woman.

Love it, MTS. Thanks for another beautiful peace of entertainment.
      Stay safe!

      • MTS here…staying as safe as I can. As in, I am not about that “street life”. I stay home as much as possible. :)

And I don’t know what it is about that studio. They must be pumping in some kind of sexy hormone through the vents.
