Bette and Tina were sitting at home watching a movie as they lay in each others arms. Since they had found out about how Dana loved Alice and how much she cared for this woman, her best friend, as though she were the love of her life even when Dana had no idea whether or not Alice returned her feelings, brought a whole new light into their world. Small things became just a bit bigger and big things became just a bit smaller.

Tinas eyes were still on the tv but her mind was somewhere else completely, I wonder what theyre doing.

Alice sat there not able to believe that at this very moment she was about to tell her best friend the truth, and the truth would either hurt Dana and Alices relationship or just make it better.

Danas hand sat in Alices, she was ready to pull away as soon as she heard Alice tell her that she loved her like a friend. Dana knew that was what Alice would say because she knew that whenever she felt anything for anyone they were either unavailable or straight and in a way Alice was both, she was unavailable since they were two best friends and she was straight in the sense that Alice was bisexual and could easily leave Dana for a man. Thats how it was in Danas mind because she knew that it would be better to expect the worst than the very best because that way she would not be so disappointed.

And then Alice began, Dana let me finish. I have to tell you HOW I love youI love you like Alice couldnt find the word, it was hard to describe what Dana was to her, it had been so long since she had thought about it, I love you like I have never loved anyone before Dane.

Dana was stuck, she couldnt smile or frown because she had no idea what Alice meant by the statement, What the ***** do you mean Al?

Alice began to gain more confidence now knowing that the ball was in her court, this way it was going to be done and said her style, I meanI love you differently than everyone, than my familythan my exesthan our friends.
