    Friends ch. 39

“I don’t know; whatever it is you’re going to do. I have learned so much from you. It has truly been an honor and I’d like to continue.”

“I am grateful to have had such a wonderful and brilliant young man working for me. But I’m sorry; I don’t have a job for you.”

“When you do, call me,” he said and smiled as he walked out of the office. He came back moments later with a couple of boxes and started helping Bette pack away her things. They spent the time reminiscing their time there, James had basically been there as long as she had. That was their home and now they needed a new place to call home.

Tina was still reeling from her beautiful two weeks off with her wife. Although they talked about some heavy things, she was happy that they had gotten it out and are continuing to work through it. She had managed to get through a meeting with her Desperate Actions crew and squeeze time in with Dylan Moorland to touch base before she had lunch. She was walking by Helena’s office when she heard shouting.

“How can you do this to me? I paid you bloody good money and now you’re tossing me aside without notice…I don’t fucking care what kind of position it is…you traveled the world on my dime…you took advantage…you’ll be sorry,” she heard her phone slam. Tina flinched and knocked on the door.

    “Helena?”

“What,” Helena shouted making Tina jump, she opened the door to see Helena’s phone on the floor and a small hole in the wall.

    “What happened?”
“That fucking asshole Leo Herrera fucking quit on me. That sniveling weasel! I’ll fucking kill that son of a bitch.”

    “What are you talking about?”

“Leo my personal fucking art buyer left me. Franklin from the CAC offered him a job and he took it. He’s been playing me this whole time, now he’s talking about taking my chair on the board.”

“Wait, wait, what job at the CAC?”

“The curators…oh my God,” Helena said, as she realized who’s job he took, “fuck.”

“Bette was right, you were trying to fuck her,” Tina said the anger rising.

“No Tina, I swear to you I wasn’t trying to screw with her job. I only wanted to help, you have to believe me,” she said getting up quickly.

    1. Amazing Chapter. I hope that Helena doesn’t screw Bette. Franklin was always an asshole. He’s afraid of Bette’s talent, vision and ability. She has more talent in her little pinky than he’ll ever have. Franklin is a hack, an administrative hack. Full of himself but no creativity.

    2. Franklin is such a dick. I hope the CAC sinks in the mire of bullcrap that Leo’s obviously sold them. On to bigger and Bette-r things, Bette’s L.A. gallery will be better than anything she could have done within the confines of the CAC. Thanks for the post. :)

    3. Great update. Franklin is an ass. Whether Bette knows it or not, he has done her a huge favor. As Tina told her she can now devote her time to establishing Porter West in LA. She will have more support than even she realizes. Go gettem’ Bette. Thanks for posting.

    4. Well Franklin is such a puss, he waited until he made all those profits, then he fired Bette. I hope Tina is right about trusting Helena(which I actually liked-later, when I met the girls at the Convention)to help, them.
