Friends ch. 42
It was as if the last six months were a dream. Bette and Helena had gone to work on the gallery immediately and knocked out a bunch of construction. They had walls built to make separate rooms so they can display different pieces and shows at the same time. They also had a small parking garage built in the vacant lot across the street from the gallery. Bette had taken the reins on the remodel as Helena had her hands full with Shaolin Studios; occasionally stopping by to see how things were going. Tina was seven months pregnant with a beautiful and healthy girl and they couldn’t be happier. Lara who was also seven months pregnant had an even bigger surprise by being a home to twins. Dana was certainly surprised to realize that twins run in her family and her grandmother had been a twin. Lara had become close friends with Tina whom was taking baby and yoga classes with. Shane and Carmen’s wedding was right around the corner and opted to have a small wedding in Los Angeles. It seemed like their family was growing by the minute.
Bette had been stressing for the last month trying to get things done. James had gone to New York for a couple of months to watch Allyn as she showed him the ropes. The New York gallery was considerably smaller and was easier to manage than the west coast gallery would be. James spent most of his time there basically running the show while Allyn was preparing her showcase. Bette had asked to feature her mother’s work which hadn’t been shown in almost thirty years. She was excited to lend her mother’s work to The Bette Porter Art Gallery West; it was the work that her mother found so breathtaking that she never showed it after its first appearance. It would be the show of the year or perhaps the best show in the last thirty years. Those who had seen the work so many years ago were completely fascinated that Bette Porter had landed such amazingly brilliant work. Once the art world caught wind that Bette had gotten hold of the Alison Barnes Retrospective; she was getting hundreds of calls from art collectors and artists about getting into the show. Bette had also asked if Allyn would lend a few of her pieces for the show as well. Her show was coming together and she couldn’t be more proud of all that she had achieved. She had decided to hold off on opening the Bette Porter Art Academy for a year or two, just so she could get the feel of teaching. She had already set up smaller art classes with the help of Alexander.

Who could it be?
It has to be either Jodi or Candace. I dislike them both.
Just caught up with 41&42-The girls lives seem to be moving in the right directon. Lara with twins, I hope Helena remains true and happy that Tina seems to be having a healthy baby girl. Love Bette’s speech-Who is the stranger on the scene? Drama.
Who is it?Thank you for the update, great story.
Hmm… Damn. Who is it?
Dear goodness, don’t let it be kelly.
Life was maybe going too nicely for everyone. The pregnancies are progressing nicely, Everyone seems happy and is doing well. Now there appears to be a dark spot about to be cast on the night and possibly beyond… but maybe I’m just being cautiously pessimistic? Thanks for the chapter. :)
Who the heck w€as that talking to Bette? Hope it wasn’t the people I really dislike with a passion, jodi, candace or Melvin. We shall see.
so happy for Bette and who the fuck is there to bother Bette now!
