Chapter 41 – Choices
The audit was moving along nicely when Bette decided to step out for a quick check of her messages and emails before she returned for an afternoon of accountant mumbo jumbo. Moving into her office she spotted James, smiled she gave him the high sign that she would be in her office for a little while. Bette quickly disposed of her voicemails as she moved on to her emails. As she waited for the new emails to load up her thoughts again went to last night and her offer to spend each afternoon with Anna. She had made the offer quickly without really thinking about what it would mean. Could she give up all her afternoons to Anna? This thought made Bette smile. It would be a different role for her but she actually was getting a little excited about the prospect of see Anna every day. The first email that caught her first attention was from Jackie.
Hey Bette just a quick line to let you know celebrations are in order she said yes. Jackie
Bette just smiled she was so happy for Tina. She honestly felt that she would be wonderful at the job and that she would also get so much out of the experience. It was with a happy smile that Bette as moving on to other emails.

Alice is sitting in her editors office as he hands her the just off the press magazine complete with her article. As she thumbs through the glossy pages she gets to her article complete with a few pictures of the Reverend Pillary and a few other board members that Alice had interviewed. As she starts to read the text she is struck by the lead which was much different then she had submitted yesterday. There before her was the lead Majority Board Member of the MYV Foundation is a Homophobe. The text had actually been infused with a few insinuations which spiced up the story considerably. The combination of the lingering questions which Alice had provided which where subtly in their nature added to these blatant sly hints surrounding the foundation left a very provocative piece. As Alice looked at the resulting article she had to admit the outcome was sensational and inflammatory. At first Alice was livid as she went in search of her editor. Finding him in the break room, Hey whats with my article! This isnt what I wrote. Alice launches into her assault. You could have at least asked me first.

I feel them slowly working their way back to each other. Bette’s reticence is really touching. She really wants to do the right thing. I know the board homophobe thing is looming in the distance. Thanks for letting them have this moment of happiness before it all goes south!

I searched for the HMS, Jwet…although I think after this installment we might see it in the actual words. (But not for a while, I do understand.) Glad to see Tina finally figuring out she’s gonna have to make some moves to get her woman.

So, Helena and the auditors are making me nervous, has Helena medled in Bette’s things and stolen the additional invoices? Can Tina and Bette really reconcile or are you going to drop that other shoe right in between them? AHHH!!
