    Chapter 7 – Time for Dinner

    Jackie get to meet one of the gang

    After their drinks arrived it was actually Jackie that brought up work. I want to be ready for that luncheon at the Southern California Career Woman Symposium, when will that event take place? Jackie asked as if she was trying to file away all the pertinent time lines in her mind.

    Well the symposium is in four weeks, I have made sure that VIP invitations will be sent to both Tina and Alice. I felt that if Alice also got an invitation that the probability of Tina coming would go up exponentially. Also I have made arrangements with the person setting up the seating to have Grace Patterson to sit next to Tina. A nice touch huh? Bette responds.

    My God Bette just keep reminding me how I never want to be on the wrong end of your power to move heaven and earth when you have a mind to. How did you get Graces name and what did you say to her? Jackie asks truly impressed with Bettes ability to get things done.

    Well you are not the only one who has had the privilege of coming in touch with Ms. Patterson. I actually have come up against her many times as I have gone about trying to secure grants for my own career moves. I have always found it better to understand the strengths of my competition as I have gone about my different jobs. Grace has always been the best grant writer I have ever come up against. She has a unique ability to understand a project and articulate that understanding in a manner that almost everyone can understand but also have empathy for so they want to see the project succeed. I am always nervous when I am up against her in the grant writing process. I simply contacted her and expressed a need to hire her for a project and while she found the situation unique she agreed readily to assist Tina and mentor her in any grant she would have to write. Nice move right? Bette now was feeling proud of herself as Jackie recognized just what a great move this was.

    Wow Jackie said in true respect and regard for Bette. Just as she was about to say more she felt a presence come up to the table. Turning she saw a blonde walking up and starring at Bette.

      I loved each chapter and it has drawned me in like moths are to fire.
      I am with chase on this one, but hey I am not the writer here.
