Getting in right direction
“*****”. Shane muttered as she lyed in bed watching the clock , realizing it was 8.00 am already. She had 15 minutes to reach first day at work. She stumbeled out of bed and jumped in the shower without waiting for the water to get hot. She dressed in a hurry, taking one of her leather pants on, and a white shirt. Her roomies where still not awake and Shane tried to be as quiet as possible though she bumped into everything in her way. She ran into the kitchen to get a snack before opening her outdoor to smell the fresh air and be blended by the early morning sun. She ran all the way down to her new job at ” the Lather” where she was suppose to work as an hairassistance.
Shane was running so fast, she almost bumped into her new foreman. He did not looked pleased. “Um..hi I`m Shane Mccutcheon” she said raising her hand in salute. “Oh, so you are Shane…?”. “Eh..Hi, Alan” he said. He gazed at her, looking doubtfully. Shane could see a hint of regret in his face, like “who the ***** have they hired” expression. However, he seemed to change his mind when he saw Shanes hair cutting skills…
The other assistance, Helen where watching Shane while talking to Alan. “Shes quite good…and she lookes umm…cool” she said. “Maby….” Alan responded, looking a little jealous.
Helen walked over to her when Shane was finished with her first client. “Hi, Shane, I`m Helen” she said while pretending to be calm with the situasion eventhough she felt unexpectedly nerveous. “Hi, Helen. Its really nice to meet you” Shane said looking laidback as always. She used her “flirting skills” and smiled charmingly. She was finding Helen surprisingly attractive and when Shane thought about it afterwards, she remembered that she had been nerveous in the moment she met Helen (and thats very rarely for being Shane as you know).
Shane and Helen talked for a while in the lunch breaks and they seemed to have a good chemistry weither it was friendly or more. Shane was finished at work 13.00 am. “Bye , guess I`ll see you tomorrow(?)” Helen said when Shane walked out of the lather. Shane just turned around and smiled widely at her while closing the door behind her.
Shane walked down the streets of west hollywood to meet Alice, feeling a little different. She felt like…happy.Very happy. She smiled while humming along to her discman which played Maroon 5- “Sunday morning”. In this moment, Shane felt great, and she diddent ever wanted to lose that feeling.
“Hey hard worker!”. It was Alice greeting her when she entered The planet. Shane ordered two cofees, one for Alice and one for herself, and sat down ready to tell her friend about the interessting day at the new job. “So, how was it?” Alice asked while smiling. Shane used about 20 minutes to tell all about the impressions from first day at work and how much fun it was. Shane wasent used to work, at least not to enjoi it. “I`m probably doing Diane Keatons hair next week, Shane told proudly. “That is so cool! I`m really happy you have found a job that fits for you, Shane” Alice said.
They sat there for a while and drank cofee before Dana showed up.
Alice`s face lightened up. “Hey Dana. whats up?” she asked. “Hi guys. Well, I`m having problems with my horrible boyfriend as always.” Dana said irritated. As Dana found her seat, Alice turned and leaned over to Shane as she whispered…”could she be more *****?!”. Shane couldent help but laugh a little. “Whats so amusing?” Dana muttered. “Nothing Dana, but we find it very stupid of you to not break up with that man. How many times do we have to say that he treats you like *****?” Alice sounded almost agressive, but smiled softly when she saw Danas more surprised reaction. Dana looked down. “I know”.
It became silent for a good 2 minutes until Shane finally broke the silence with a dirty joke she just HAD TO TELL whitch by the way was not funny at all. In fact, Shane was the only one laughing. “You got such a nasty humour” Alice giggled polite after rolling her eyes. Dana knocked her head in the table and whined… “So Shane, any interessting girls around you these days?” Alice asked knowing the answear, but also knowing that she would never get detailed information out of her. Shane smiled slyly. “Actually, there is”….
