GETTING TO THE GOOD PART—Ch. 4

To say that Bette was frustrated was an understatement, she was supposed to talk to Jeff Rollins but he had other plans he wanted her to drive down to his studio so they could talk, no doubt to see some of his more recent work. To be honest on a normal day she would be happy to drive down and see what he’s been working on but she was starting to fall behind on her paperwork and this would set her back even more.

“James can you please come in and bring my day planner.”

It only took James a moment to come into Bette’s office.  When he saw the frown on Bette’s face which was a little unexpected since the last time he saw her she was smiling at the envelope left by the beautiful Ms. Barton. “Where you able to speak to Mr. Rollins?”

“Yes. James do I have any free time today?”

“Well I was able to reschedule most of yesterday’s appointments for later this week. Mr. Gerhard wanted to speak with you later today to discuss arrangements for shipping his exhibit to the Tate Modern. You’re supposed to meet with Erin Kenney to go over her audit of our last exhibit and you have a loose appointment with Martin Krone to discuss the design changes you want made to the gallery. “

“Was the appointment loose on our end or his?”

“His he’s consulting on another job and doesn’t know if he’ll be able to make the appointment.”

“What time is the appointment for?”

“It’s your first appointment for today in about an hour then you should be getting a call right after from Mr. Gerhard.”

“Reschedule the appointment I have to drive out to Jeff’s studio for our conversation.”

James grinned. “He wants you to see his work.”

“Of course he does he wouldn’t be Jeff if he didn’t make me jump through hoops to see him. I’ll probably be back before Gerhard calls if not tell him I’m stuck in a meeting and that I’ll call him when I get out…oh and have the details of the shipment on my desk.  If I get any phone calls that can’t wait I’ll have my cell with me if it’s not urgent just take a message. I think that’s it…” Bette said as she had logged off of her computer and began to put her suit jacket back on.

    1. Bette is getting closer to finding out the true identity of Kennard. Tina knows that Bette is after her for her work, does Tina want more from Bette though?

    2. it would be so interesting to see when bette finally find out who kennard is and she is right under her nose and as beautiful and talanted as before

    3. Hello Toribio, That was awesome! It was good to see that TIna is trying to move forward (hopefully towards Bette) on her own with the suppport of Peggy and Norma. They can only direct her in the best way to go as Tina needs to take those first tentative steps forward. I do want her to show Bette her paintings and start sharing her paintings and interests with the beautiful Art Director. As for Bette, it seems like one step forward, one step back as she is no further nearer to finding out the identity of Kennard. Tantalizingly close and captivatingly crafted. Can’t wait to see how this all plays out. Thank you from your Loyal Fan.

    4. Such a great story….I love your style of writing. You are one of the few that is able to bring some of Alice’s zany personality to life!!! Love it! I’m missing “helping hand”….I really hope the block unblocks soon!! I’m desperate to know how Tina handles Ava and how Bette copes with moving to New York and tackling Tina’s friends there. And what about Oliver…does he agree to donate!!!?!?? Please don’t leave us hanging!!! This story gripped me and I had to re-read the whole story in one session….it took me ages but I couldn’t pull myself away! Anyways….please continue! Did I say please enough!?!?!? Please!!!!
